I think one of the biggest problems with this show is they tried to do too much in the first season. Peter has unlimited powers (as does Sylar) and they saved the world in the first season. What are they going to do in Season 2, save the world again? Season 3: Save the world. Season 4? Save the world! It's a bit repetitive. Now it's kind of lame that they downscaled Peter's power to "one at a time". I also think it's kind of lame that Nathan is trying to be Mr. Big Shot now and the "conspiracy" they're trying to expose is just Nathan being dumb and playing politics. Kill Nathan, kill the sneaky bald miliary guy, and for good measure, kill HRG guy too

I still enjoy the show, but it's lost some of it's intensity since the first season. I don't care as much anymore

Man, considering all the talk about how they cut some of the producers and the show should get on track this season...the last two weeks have been boring as hell. The Sylar bits are amusing ("mommy?"), but too isolated. Batman and Robin (Matt and Peter) are just dumbasses while Claire continues her "I'll save the world...now I need a plan...oh look, cute boy...I'm only 16/17-years old, waaaaah".

Just hurry up and reveal that Micah is "Rebel" and bring all the action back.

I'm having the same issues with the show. It's starting to feel more like Jericho where they would go weeks where nothing really happened until finally... yeah.

As far as Peter's power goes... I'd imagine he'll end up getting most of his other "powers" back eventually - all he has to do is meet up with Sylar. I'm guessing though he essentially has his dad's power now, since we all know powers develop over time. It's only a matter of time before he can sap powers permanently.

And Sylar's dad had kinetic powers according to the flashback. I gotta wonder if he already killed his dad (if it's not the bald dude).

peter looks to be the beneficiary of the patrelli hug for a change.

It makes me wonder if Sylar is going to go back to being a good guy...if he sees that his father was a bad guy, then maybe he'll have a change of heart. Then again, maybe his dad had good reasons for killing his mom. Yay for plot twists

Puppet Master had Sylar under control, Sylar said "You think you can control me?" and then Puppet Master dropped to the floor after getting a bloody nose... the whole incident confused me because it implied that Sylar somehow got mindfuck powers, which by all rights he never had (other than the truth tingle - what a lame power).

How is the truth tingle a lame power? That's amazingly useful in so many situations. That would be like playing a rogue in D&D and thinking hide/sneak/backstab are the only useful skills and completely ignoring diplomacy/intimidate/etc. Parkman's power would be better but that takes time to apply.

As a final note, most of this episode was well done, but what happened to Ando/Hiro? I think Matt will get locked up and Hiro will have to rediscover his power in order to rescue him.

People don't pay attention enough...you are right on Peter...he is is limited to duplicating a power. Previously he settled on keeping Sylar's (or his father's)...

Did they show Sylar's dad do something besides the head slice?

The ending for the last episode was stupid. They could have had Peter steal Nate's power while parkman walked them to the end of the hallway. Then, superfly outa there.

Doubtful. First off while he meets Sylar in the first season, he doesn't slice anyone open at that time so there's no way he could have multiple powers at that point (unless you want to argue that Peter + Sylar = symbiotic powers that work together avoiding the deficiencies of the other two). Additionally, that would have made it all to easy to avoid the NYC meltdown, just grab a different hero and obtain their power instead. Thus the loss and regain of powers yielded a slightly different power than he had before unless it's still developing.

Re: having his dad's powers. It's possible, but there is no evidence yet that he has sapped any powers.

1 power at a time is clearly how it works now, but whether he will stay this way or revert back to god mode is as of yet, unknown.

Sylar's Dad being telekinetic is ironic (recall that is not Sylar's innate power, he clubbed a dude who could do it and used a saw to open his brain). On this note, it could be argued that if Peter absorbs Sylar's power, all he gains is the ability to examine brains and learn new powers.

Remember in future Costa Verde Sylar also has the power to deny Peter the ability to absorb his powers so clearly Sylar has some unusual psychic talents.
