In my not so humble opinion after Episode V:
1) The very first episode said Volume 1, chapter 1 which leads me to believe that the writer is thinking serially like this year is volume one of the Heroes saga. You could have new heroes come in and old ones die off as the series progresses. And we all know in the comic book world, no one is truly dead.
2) The younger Pietrelli is a Mimic. Around others he can assume their powers. Question: can he assume multiple people at the same time? Claire + older brother = Superman? And how long does that ability last when outside the sphere of that other person.
3) The older Pietrelli flys at least Mach one. How did his pj bottoms stay on? Must have been a pretty strong knot
4) Hiro bends time and space. It is convenient that he does not need to see the location to reach it. So does that mean a locked door is no problem for him even if he hasn?t seen the inside? I wonder if he would actually materialize inside a solid or would his power innately prevent it?
5) The Cam girl ? SheHulk? She doesn?t turn green but that Macromedia Flash symbol appears on her back to denote the other side of her personality. Also, we see at the end of V that her ex-husband is in the house and he has chameleon powers. (Is that Gunn from Angel?) Do both super parents make the child super? Not necessarily. He doesn?t have to be a genius to know what his mom does in the garage. Kids know a lot more and do not have to be super powered. He might have ability later on and the writer could save that for the end or for the next season. The show?s pace is going nicely. Why load it up for a finale? String the viewers along and don?t play down to the audience. X files had some smart episodes because they didn?t spell everything out. They left some things to the imagination.
6) The mind reading cop. If you started using your ability how do you know how to filter? Think about vocal conversations and how we screen out what we selectively do not want to hear. It is a practice which we?ve learned to adapt as we get older. Notice how a baby tries to focus in on all sounds? Now throw many people thinking around you and you?ve never been able to hear them before. I?m sure it would be quite the cacophony. Notice how he hooked up with his wife? I thought about the scene of Mel Gibson and Marissa Tomei in What Women Want. Yeah, he knew exactly what she wanted.
7) The guy in the glasses, the step father. He?s going to be the shadowy secret organization figurehead. I think he will be this show?s ?Smoking Man.? I think he represents a group that already knows about the existence of Homo Superior (thanks, X-Men) and his group is the shadowy organization of Homo sapiens that either want to control Superior or minimize their existence. Think: if you suddenly came face to face with a superior being, would you be afraid that they will wield that power over you? His group does not want that to happen. Right now he is using the telepath to drain information and to mind wipe them so that they are not discovered. He is disappointed that his stepchild has not told him the real truth (while he watched the DVD of her falling) but I think he is beginning to get inside her confidence and thinks she might trust him more. He can control her if she does believe that he knows what is best for her.
8) Sylas. He is not the step father but an evil mutant you feeds on the brains of others to sustain life? Is a negative being that freezes people with his touch and then slices the skull open for dinner? We know he has a telekinetic power (which makes him look like he can fly) and that the power is pretty strong. So does he need brains to live? And will a ?Heroes? brain feed him more?
9) Some one set us up the bomb! Is it a plan of the step father?s group to bomb NYC? Hmmm?
OK, I am bored at work.
