What was the roach thing? I remember it being there, but I don't remember him doing anything with it.

Damn, everyone is everyone's family.. This is kinda messed up.
My take on this is that Nathan has an affair, accidentally ends up knocking up the woman. He aspires to be a big time politician, however he can't have this secret come out, so he gets Claire's mom to "accidentally" cause a fire in the building. I'm guessing neither of them knew about Claire's powers, so they both presume she dies in the fire. Nathan's past stays buried and he can go on with his political career. It also explains why Claire's mom would call him after Claire finds her: their plan didn't go as expected, since Claire survived.Originally posted by: Aikouka
Oh and the mother was most likely the cause of the fire (not being able to control her powers like she can now), so that could be part of how she survived.
From the sounds, I don't think he was having flashbacks to Isaac's powers. Since he doesn't seem to be able to control powers when he first gets them, my guess is Wireless was somewhere nearby?Originally posted by: Abe Froman
His flash backs to Issac's power were pretty crazy, when he almost had a melt down with the flash backs.

Yea, i dont think that had any significance. AND Sylar had to listen to suresh's watch to tell him what was wrong with it. Still sensory, audition & vision. There is no evidence that sylar has somekind of ESP to learn others powers.

if you don't think it had significance then you COMPLETELY missed the whole part where he slowed down his heart rate/body functions enough to make the doctor think he was dead. he got that from the roach.

1. power to absorb other people's power
2. power to regenerate
3. power to read people's minds
4. power to fly
5. power to be invisible
6. power to see the future and paint them
7. power to stop time like Hiro
8. power to move things with his mind (sylar)
9. power to study things and understand them (sylar)
10. basically all of sylar's powers
freaking Peter is GOD!
let me know if I'm missing any other powers that he has come in contact with.

I don't think Peter technically has the ability to read people's minds. I don't recall him ever being near the cop that has that ability.

When he was arrested after the incident at Claire's HS, Matt tried to read his mind and Peter got the power and it went all whacky.

how?
He went back in time and accidentally got his grandfather blown up in an atomic blast but then when he didnt disappear he realized that that guy wasn't his grandfather so he did the nasty with his grandma, thats how!

I think the show is already screwing up in their treatment of powers. If Peter needs to think about the person and hence the power in order to use it, the regeneration is pretty pointless. It was only a coincidence that he survived. What happens if he gets knocked out or something happens that he isn't expecting?

Ever hear of the song "I'm My Own Grandpa"? That's what he was going on, not an actual event in the show .

I bet he ate the roach though. I think Sylar can tell what powers they have but cant obtain them unless he eats their brains. Hence the fact Mr. Bennett saying Sylar has a lot of different DNA in him.
