Heh, I didn't think it was that confusing.
As I understand it: when Eric Roberts finds Claire's dad, he's been wounded and has no memory of what happened, so Roberts assumes the Haitian did it all to protect Claire. His mind was wiped because he probably will have to report back to the organization, but he won't be able to accidentally lead them to Claire, who's being taken by the Haitian to an undisclosed place (but not the organization).

Does anybody think that Ted (the nuclear guy), kinda looks like the cavemen from those Geico commercials? Also, Peter Petrelli's love interest ("the black lady", as someone else said) looks like she should have Storm's (X-men) weather power.

I'm guessing that at some point the Hatian man brings back claire's dad's memory, maybe next season.

Ted does indeed look a lot like the geico caveman.

I think it also looks like Hiro finally gets his sword next week, I guess his father always knew that he could possibly be special, somehow his father is involved in all of this at a high level.

dunno if this has been answered or not, but I thought it was either the father or the haitian that could prevent people from using their powers - sylar in the cell, parkman mind reading in the paper shop, etc

Wondering why they couldn't have stopped Ted.

Her biological father of course. As I speculated about 10 or so pages ago, I believe Nathan knows a heck of alot more than he's letting on. I think he works for this Linderman guy.

It's hard to imagine that Nathan knew about Claire before the "hot" trailer mom called him about their daugher. What interest would it serve to ask the Haitian not to erase her memory? If he knows so much about her, why would Nathan try to stop his brother Peter from saving his daughter Clarie from Sylar?

I don't think Nathan works for Linderman. Linderman blackmailed Nathan after Nathan bedded down with Jessica. Now she has a murder contract from Linderman on Nathan.

If you go on Torrent and go download an episode, I'm sure it will be the usual 42-43 minutes. Whether it's a 9 minute stretch of commercials or 6x3 minute ones or 7x2.5 minute ones, it's the SAME. THE SHOW IS THE SAME DAMN LENGTH. Get it in your head guys.

Anyways, why does HRG need to be shot before getting his memory erased?

Because he was going to have to kill the Haitian and turn his daughter in. In the mind of "the company", him getting shot implies the Haitian figured things out and shoots him (to "kill" in self defense) and runs with the girl.

So far I think the popular belief is mind powers. He could stop Parkman's mind reading and Sylar's telekinesis but not Nathan's flying ability - hence his escaping. It could also explain them not being able to stop Ted from going critical or stop Claude from being invisible (hence their needing special head gear to see him and Peter)

it wasn't that confusing the whole last scene was a setup. hrg gets shot to make it look like the haitian shot him and kidnapped claire to prevent her from being turned into the organization. hrg has his mind wiped to have complete deniability & to protect his daughter. haitian and claire are now on the run!

2. they are both on major networks
3. they are 2 of the highest rated shows on television right now

it's really nothing like comparing the simpsons (a 30 min comedy on sundays) to x-files (a 60 min drama on the same network)

So I'm guessing that the whole setup was planned from before HRG returned home with Parkman with the file of "truth"? In the conversation that HRG and Eric Roberts have after the whole showdown at the house thing, I recall Eric Roberts saying that HRG called him and also that he reported the Haitian. So it would seem to me that if that were the case, HRG and the Haitian must have had a plan, which probably included the whole shooting HRG/wiping his mind thing, as Claire most certainly would've been out-ed one way or another to Eric Roberts. Or am I just remembering that conversation wrong?

yeah i think hrg/haitian set up their plan (and included parkman in a small portion of it) before returning to the house. i don't know why eric roberts didn't nab claire at the house because he clearly saw her ability, but maybe someone else caught something i missed. the coversation between hrg & eric roberts was after the plan was setup, to make it look like the haitian was behind it. then we have the shooting/mind wipe to clear hrg.

I wonder if all those people that were watching clearly saw it too .

they did, thus why they had the scene with the new "hero" candice (played by Missy Peregrym) talking about her cleaning it up. i think we will see what her actual power is next week, but it's been speculated to be something between pheromone seduction to being an illusionist.
