I'm pretty sure Sylar couldn't steal powers with a gunshot. It seems like he has to kill them a certain way.... though maybe not, considering the flashback to the first guy.

Sylar yanked Eden thru the glass into the room. The Haitian was not there to help her. Presumably both the Haitian and Eden were both going off the "reservation" to fight bad guys on their own terms. And had instructions to erase memories from Claire and her brother and friend. He probably wanted to recruit or otherwise form an alliance of sorts with Claire and thus not erase her memories.

Peter started coughing in jail after his fight with Sylar. That interaction and or the combination of too many powers is making him sick. He like some of the Heroes are coping with their powers with varying degrees of success: Nikki can't control Jessica; Hiro can't always control if, when and where he turns up; the cop is getting continual headaches; the painter is doing well off drugs.

If Hiro doesn't find the sword, he won't be in a sword fight with a dinosaur.

And It seems like the Haitian guy is able to Absorb, not steal, erase or whatever.... absorb powers, not into himself, but tunnel them elsewhere. reflect? That doesn't make any sense. It certainly doesn't fit all the cases... what about when he rendered Sylar incapacitated when they caught him?

he needs to figure out how the power works - presumably its all controlled by the brain.

no brain = no powers to analyze

He was badly hurt and Eden probably put a sleep suggestion in Sylar's head.

Eden most likely died but the bullet may have missed her brain, making her brain ripe for the picking.

does Peter mimic or absorb others' powers? I guess he can just mimic not absorb. then how could he explode? unless the explosive guy is around him.
he may has another power that enable him to enter other person's dream. remember when Simon's father was dying on his bed. Peter had a dream about flying with the old man and then Simore told him about the same thing.

My assumption on is that eden couldn't manipulate sylar again. He fell for that once when he was bleeding then he figured out how it worked.

i think HRG is the one that blocks powers too. in the episode where eden was caught the haitian guy started to act weird when she told HRM to let her go. HRG just laughed it off. he was the one that was around peter when he started coughing and looking like death.

yes, I think they keep the Haitian around for now whenever you see blocking powers, just for a smoke and mirrors of the show. So that you don't know who CheerDad really is.

I'm trying to remember some more less significant scenes where he could have blocked. Like when Claire cut her hand on the glass, it didn't heal right away (could be attributed to her just learning her power). Or when Peter was in his cell, he was feeling sick while CheerDad was near (could just be the overwhelmingness of all the powers he's been in contact with)

IIRC, he was there in the beginning but then he left. in the mean time HRG went into the cell, talked to peter, and then was just on the other side of the door for the duration of the conversation between claire and peter. during the conversation peter got progressively worse. i'm guessing it was due to HRG blocking peter's powers that he had previously taken from claire and blocking peter from absorbing claire's powers again.

also, we have never seen claire and HRG together when claire uses her powers. when she cut her hand either she didn't have her powers yet or he was blocking her. did claire get hurt in the battle with sylar? HRG didn't show up till after...

EDIT: one more thing when HRG meets sylar he usually does it alone. why can't sylar use his powers on HRG when he is alone but sylar could use them on eden?

You think this is the end of season 1? Or the half way point of season 1. More and more shows have been taking midterm breaks, but not calling it the "season" finale.


I do like how more shows are also setting season limits for themselves (although who is to say they stick to them)
