Been around a while... I got one and actually took it back because the SERIAL connection was sooooooo slow. If it only had USB. Hey if you can put up with waiting 3 hours to sync data then this is a great deal.

exactly! I have everything set up to sync, even files! and no porbs, minutes. I had a 3135 iPAQ WITH usb and the only time its key is for mp3 transfers to CF card otherwise theyre comparable in my opinion.

USB on PDAs is overrated. I had a Visor Deluxe USB and it didnt sync any faster than my serial IBM Workpad C3. Im sure others will disagree but I honestly didnt see a difference in either platform between USB and serial EXCEPt in transferring mp3s and ebooks. For the cheap price buy a usb cf reader and transfer these file types that way instead.

I think the major problem for Serial Connection is INCONVINIENT, you can always plug in USB while computer is on, but not for Serial connection.

Correction, you can plug in anything to your computer with the computer on if you use Windows 2000. You can also hot swap with IDE drives.
