Michigan took care of that over two months ago.

All USC did was confirm it.

I think its crap that a conference can't have 3 teams in BCS bowls. Should be UM and OSU in a title game rematch and the badgers in the Rose. Were going to finish like 5th in the polls and get no bid.

Eh? Where did you hear no conference can have 3 teams in the BCS bowls?

A BCS bowl team?

Do you think that they deserve to go to one of the BCS bowl games?

Let's see....4 at large bids in the BCS: Boise State, Michigan, Arkansas, Notre Dame.

Can you name one other team in the country more deserving than those four?

Wisconsin.

LSU....considering they beat Arkansas and both have two losses

It's a rule. Brad Edwards from ESPN.com was discussing it during his chat last week. Specifically he mentioned that Wisconsion has no shot at a BCS bowl game because of this rule.

You're kidding right?

This is a Notre Dame team whose best win is a four-point thriller over Georgia Tech in the first week of the season.

They have one win over a currently ranked team (GaTech). The other two ranked teams they played (UM/USC) beat them by a combined score of 91-45.

No way ND is a BCS team. There are plenty of better two-loss teams.

LSU, Wisconsin, Florida, Auburn, Rutgers, Louisville are all more deserving than Notre Dame.

Auburn beat Florida
Arkansas beat Auburn
LSU beat Arkansas
Florida beat Tennessee and LSU
Rutgers beat Louisville
Louisville beat West Virginia

All of these teams have at least one win against a team ranked in the top 15 of the BCS.

What's Notre Dame's best win? 14-10 against a Georgia Tech team that is barely hanging in the top 25.

It's in the rules:

All teams earning automatic berths must be selected. No more than two teams from any single Conference may play in BCS games in a single year, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large picks.

You can read the rules here. It's under the Team Selection Procedures section.

ND shouldn't even be eligible for a BCS bowl with a mid-schedule roster of Navy, UNC, Air Force, Army.

Play a real schedule.

Bowls are about money - ND puts butts in the seats - 'nuff said.

You could say this about a lot of top teams. The only difference is ND lost to the 2 best teams they have played. But a lot of top teams are chock full of weak opponents. This has been proven in message boards and talk radio 100 times over. The BCS is a sham but hey its what we have to work with.

edit: And oh I should point out that ND plays the service academies to help them. It brings them a ton of revenue that they put into their colleges. Normally ND enough other tough opponents that the schedule strength evens out, but a lot of what normally would be tough opponents this year turned out to be mediocre teams.

You ND haters are pathetic.

So jealous that they're finally good again and are getting so much press, and now that they lost to another good team you celebrate like the team you back just won a National Championship or something. Just wait till Klausen comes in and shuts you up with 4 more seasons of contention, and know they'll get more and more press as time goes on, I hope it annoys the crap out of you. I got news for you too, Quinn is still in the running for Heisman, and when they go to USC and beat the Trojans that will leave a lasting impression on the voters, and this performance will be ancient history.

Almost as pathetic as you ND homers.

Nah, ND Fanboys are 10 times more pathetic than the the haters. The haters have a shred of a clue about football and understand that being forced to watch ND beat up 8th rate teams like Navy, Army, Stanford and North Carolina does not make them any good. Only the homers can watch ND barely squeak by some truly awful teams like Michigan State and start screaming about Heismans and National Championships. ND is not even a top 20 team, people who understand football accept that, only the ND lovers can't face that reality.

I strongly agree with you. Now my points:

1. ND is the most overrated team in college football (Cal would come in second). USC has backed their stuff up so far, however they'll be up there too after they play a team with a decent defense (OSU).

2. Originally I was against a rematch however now I'd much rather see one if I could also see UF vs. USC in some bowl.

3. We need a 4 team playoff system - if UF and USC win their final games, I think that after this year there will be alot of pressure put on the college presidents to instill one. You'll have 4 teams with one loss three of which will all most likely be within a few points of each other in the ratings at the end of the year. Two have played very tough schedules - UF especially (USC being the other, OSU's schedule was pretty challenging as well).

I agree with everything you said except the part you forgot to post where Florida would get rolled by Michigan.

Florida is going to the Sugar Bowl if they win. The tie-in says so. Michigan is probably playing Notre Dame or LSU in the Rose Bowl.

Also, for what it's worth, Michigan's strength of schedule is just as good as Florida's and USC. They are all going to be top 5 at the end of the year.
