Hey Canucks! Vibe vs NCIX?

I'm looking at making a fairly major purchase in the next couple days (if I wait any longer RAM prices are going to kill me!)

Anyway, I have motherboard, cpu, case, cooling, ram, etc. all priced out at both Vibe and NCIX. All together with shipping they come within $50 of each other. Any suggestions about who to give my $1200 CDN too?

Any bad experiences with either of these two suppliers? NCIX says that everything on my list is IN STOCK, which I highly doubt from looking for some of those same items on other sites. Vibe says a couple things will take 2-4 days to get, most everything else is under 24 hours.

Should I believe them? Thanks for your input!

did you check out www.atic.ca and www.anitec.ca? They sometimes have lower prices than ncix... I haven't really heard much about vibe.

I've heard nothing but good things about Vibe, but rumour has it that NCIX can be lacking when it comes to packaging..

Me, personally, would order from NCIX. The prices are decent, they pricematch, and they have decent service. At the place I work at, we do tons of ordering with them, and I've never had one damaged package from them yet, so packaging isn't a problem.

Here's a quick story about one experience with Vibe with me: ordered up a Molex extractor from them, and either A) They didn't ship it to me, and they refused to acknowledge or B) I noticed they didn't tape the bottom of the box, and it could have fell out. Anyways, lost out of $15 there, and they refused to take responsibility for it. Frankly, I think it was A, because on the invoice they sent me, everything was crossed out, except for my molex extractor.

Anyways, a few months later, I decide to forgive and forget that experience, and order from them again. Got back an email saying that, because of previous problems with an order, they will not serve me. So much for ordering from them again for me.

I have had good luck with NCIX. Usually things come within the same week ordered, often arrive 2 after order. Support is pretty good. Attic is cheaper, but they do not have a good name. I did buy a system from them and everything was as ordered, but I would only buy things that had a manufacturer's warrenty. Never tried Vibe.

www.pccanada.com always has lower prices than NCIX but its variety isnt as good though.

Thanks for the comments everyone. NCIX is the leader so far. Vibe comes in a little cheaper but I haven't heard any good feedback on them yet. Anitec is right there at the same price but their shipping costs a little more as well.

I bought some stuff from vibe, if you ask nicely they will match the price to a competitor if not beat it. Check out rfd forums.

Just ordered a hard drive and dvd-rom from NCIX, which was cheaper on pccanada.com, cept if you order from NCIX out of BC, they don't charge PST, which makes it cheaper overall.
Packaging was sufficient, got my stuff in about a week, which is not bad considering it had to go basically accross country.

Does NCIX have COD? Being that I'm only 16, I don't have a CC and would like to see if they can beat Memory Express for pricing.

NM, it seems that MemoryExpress, which is located in Calgary NE and SE(or SW, somewhere in the south anyways) is only slightly more expensive, but I don't have to pay shipping and handling. Much cheaper in the end. Thank god this store is in calgary.

Well... so far so good.

My NCIX experience has been great. They price-matched everything I requested without hassel and apparently everything they claimed to have IN STOCK, really was. Their order tracking/notification system is as good as I've seen as well.

I'll let you know how well they packed everything... hopefully by Friday. None of that 'Next Day Free' shipping stuff here in the frozen north! (I say that because it is actually snowing here in Edmonton today... blah!)
