Considering the fact that most of the population here on this board is geeks, and no one can ever find a date, I would recommend that you do not take things such as smoking at face value.

You could be missing out on a really great person, possible someone that you could have spent the rest of your life with. Someone who would have been willing to quit their "habit" for you and your future together.

Just because someone smokes doesn't mean they are genuinely a bad person, for god sakes it's just smoking. The way I see it is you are robbing yourself, and if that's the way you want it to be because of your own demanding selfishness then so be it. There will always be internet porn.

Seriously, I don't want to be around it. I HATE the smell of smoke, I hate it in my clothes, in my nose, in my house, in my car. N A S T Y ! !   If I see an attractive women but she smokes, I don't give her a 2nd look, don't care if she's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I am hearing some arguments that sound kinda weird to me. "Smoking doesn't make her a bad person" and the like. Smoking, as well as anything else that you do, is a reflection of you. Doesn't mean smokers have bad personalities. But it does say this: that they are willing to endanger their own health, and the health of those around them, for their own pleasure. So what's wrong with finding that unattractive? I am a fun person to be around, even if I only shower once a month. Some girls find that unattractive, so what?

You're missing the point. To me (and other people it seems), smoking is a turn-off. There are many, many things about a girl that I find attractive and some things I find not attractive. See-thru shirt is a plus, tight pants is a plus, body of a bay watch babe is a plus as long as she doesn't have huge, unnatural looking breasts (that would be a minus). Smoking is a minus. You add all those up and see if the girl is still someone you would want to spend time around. Smoking isn't a deal breaker for me, but I do "give a crap" and all else being equal I'll pick the girl that doesn't smoke. Make of that what you will.

i went out with someone that smoked... never thought i would, but for some reason, it just didn't bother me that much. altho, if it had gotten serious or led to anything... i'd go nuts.. i wouldn't be able to live w/ anyone that smokes (unfortunately, my dad smokes.. but i'm at school and he's currently in washington anyway)

curiously enough, she smoke camel lights, and occasionally cloves. they don't seem to smell quite as bad as marlboro, which my dad smokes.
