Hey! I am #5 on Team AT for SETI BOINC!

I am in 6th place and i should be way lower then that!

whats goin on guys?! you I know there has to be more then 5 guys that crunch harder then i do on Team AT, lets get going and start crunching these work units, I know there are better crunchers then me out there!

PS: the boinc client is awesome, they are still working out some bugs i guess with seti but i am soo glad i wont have to upgrade the version of seti use manually and queueing is built right in and settings are adjustable via the web.

Many is waiting till classic winds down before moving to BOINC, so for the moment there isn't much competition...
Also the difficulty connecting is for the moment damping the partizipation, but hopefully they've optimized the system now and the network-storage-device will work for another 18 months...

BTW, the seti-application is auto-updated as needed, but the BOINC core-client must be manually downloaded.

Anyone having security-conserns against the auto-updating, use the "anonymous-client-approach" and you must manually upgrade everything then needed.

I've jumped back onto SETI again but the BOINC SETI page seems to be dead so I'll be crunching classic until it finishes.

The web-address has changed to http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/
while the url to use in the client is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/

Of course they can occassionally be down for server-changes, but still the pages normally will show up...

Most TeAm mates will turn into BOINC only when SETI Classic end, including me.

I have SETI BOINC downloaded on one of my systems to test it out. But, it probably will not run all out until SETI 1 ends. It took a while to get running until I tried the updated web-address. (Thanks Rattledagger).

I have submitted one work unit on SETI BOINC. I know it will have to be verified. When I check on my "Pending Credits" I get "This feature is turned off temporarily". Is this the correct message that I should get until the first work unit is verified? Or do I have my preferences set wrong?

There's nothing wrong with your setup.

The "this feature is turned off temporarily" is showing since all listings of pending & crunched wu and such is turned off since this was using too much server-resources. Till they either optimizes the database or get more computer-power this will be off. For the same reason the team-listings isn't sorted.

External stats-sites, like this has team-listings, and Berkeley is now supplying updated stats every 4 hours.

oops i wish i had known, my machines were pumping about 30 units a day for seti classic i think when i had them all running.

oh well i am too lazy to change back only to change again.

I'm planning on doing a weekly stats/position change thread for the SETI - BOINC team. It's going to be kinda basic, so don't expect a whole lot (unless some one with the skills can help me do this easier ), it's all manually work for me.

I'll plan on doing it Sunday-Sunday, but this week will be Wednesday-Sunday.
Something along the lines of this:
