Hey Photoshop 6 People!!!! Question!!!

I'm trying to do something using Adobe's Photoshop 6. I'm really a noob at this type of working with photo programs so bare with me. What I'm trying to do is take a ton of picture files and import them into Photoshop and have it combine all the pictures into one massive picture. In the end I will have this file sent to Kinkos to have printed out as a poster. Anyone know how I could go about doing this?

Eh... are they just going to be laid out in a grid or do you want to do all the blending/feathering fade in and out effects? I mean if it's in a grid, just create a new document at around 300 res and make it the largest size kinkos supports and then just copy each photo and paste it into the new document. I'm not sure if there's a quicker way to do this. Probably some script/macro you might have to write.

Its a bunch of comic strips so they can just be laid out in a grid. Its about 300 files and I'd really like to find an easier way than cutting and pasting if possible

wow that is a n00b question, here is what you should do:

open program.

open your folder where all the pics are located (not file>open, but i mean your actual folder)

just select and drag all the pics to the adobe "stage"

it'll open all of them at once.

create a new file, (select the desired pixels)

then one by one, use the arrow tool, shhould be TOP RIGHT from the tools, and drag and drop to the new blank file.

Eh I could have figured that much out on my own probably but thanks for the help. That'll still take a long time. I'm just wondering if there is any function that will let me say, take all the pics from this directory and combine them into one pic.

Dang, I'm thinking your computer would freeze up if you tried to open up all 100 at once. Yeah, I know some people are able to write some macros are whatever to repeat the same steps over and over again... but I've never done that. Perhaps searching out some Photoshop forums would be more helpful. I know Adobe has their own forums.

photoshop doesn't have the ability to place all 300 files for you into a single file because
it requires the user to input a location for each file...else it will just be garbage

Nah my computer can handle it. I've got 512 MB of RAM. I may try checking out Adobe's forums

I have 768 cas2 Crucial in mine, and Photoshop has easily maxed it out before... it was a B&W drawing too...
