We're really a 'day late and a dollar short' on this SBA stuff. But it's a positive step, but we should have done more, quicker to help keep small businesses from closing. That's 'water under the bridge' now.

Fern I agree totally with this assessment but the problem is there was absolutely no support from the Republican's to help pass the Small Business job's act and so that helped create the second problem of it being to small and to late because the Democrats had to weaken the Bill substantially to sign on Blue Dog Democrats to get the Bill to the President.

Dodd/Frank froze the credit market.
Repeal Dodd/Frank and banks will start lending again.

True, but the House has the ability to create legislation. Where is the Republican Jobs bill? Why hasn't one at least been put to a vote?

Yeah I like asking Repubs the same thing...The Repubs in the House gained control by running on Jobs,Jobs,Jobs yet they have produces squat for Legislation.

ROFL, everytime I hear a liberal make this argument it makes me laugh. Trying to tell me that you aren't going to vote for Obama again because he isn't left enough for you.

Obama left? Talk about a laugh. He makes Reagan look downright liberal.

That way, when he does lose, you can say you didn't vote for him and you had nothing to do with it.

Like I said, Obama deserves to lose. I'm happy to help him do that but I won't vote for someone even further right than him.

We all know who the left is voting for this time around.
Some will vote for him as the lesser of two evils. Its not like the left actually has a viable choice that represents their views.

Either that or they are staying home which is even funnier considering that they will complain the next four years even though they chose to sit on their ass when they could have done something about it.

Something about it? LOL. Its going to come down to Romney and Obama. The difference between the two is a letter after their name and the color of their skin. Policywise, there's no difference.

The "I didn't vote for Bush so don't blame me" arguments went along way so why wouldn't it work better the other way, right.

No one said that except in jest. It was too bad that Bush supporters viewed any dissent as treason.

The Repubs major complaint from what I remember was their objection to structuring this as a purchase of bank stock. I shared that objection.

Well what's your answer?

We tried the money supply game and the evidence provided says that's not the problem. The problem has always been demand. We know what we need to do in order to improve the macro-economy. But fear and special interests from all sides that are used to the status quo will resist very hard to bring forth any meaningful plan let alone execute upon it.

The Ryan budget plan, eh? Yeah, I was looking forward to the health insurance companies taking all of my Grandmother's meager savings.

LOL you are right the Ryan Plan is a joke hence the Repubs dropped this talking point like it was Cancer

This experiment is not yet over. The dollar still has some value left. Give it time before you make such drastic conclusions. :sneaky:

Why are the small businesses strapped for cash? If you plan and execute your business well, don't try to grow too fast, and don't spend all your profit on hookers and blow you don't need a bank.

We are doing fine, in fact we are doing great. When we decide we need a new machine we simply pay cash for it and it is usually paid for within a month , two at the most, by the revenue it generates. We have grown steadily over the last 4 years and added three new machines and 2 new employees this year. We owe nothing, never have.

We are currently discussing pre-complying with EPA regulations regarding ground water contamination. It isn't a problem now but we have the money and are going to build a water reclamation system so any water we use to wash items is of drinking quality when it hits the lawn. This way we never have to worry about it in the future. Go figure, evil Republican businessmen making a profit and using it to prevent the environment from becoming polluted....voluntarily!!
