I liked the song back then, but they altered it too much

on a side note :

it was 2 years ago and I used to sing that song to my girlfriend on our anniversaries.

Nah don't take any crap about your comment.

I heard this song a couple years ago too, and when I played a copy for people they all thought it was neat, and now this time around it's burning out peoples ears with overplay.

My GF used to love it too =)
haha, it's the epitome of ATOT though....if someone doesn't like a post they throw there crap at it.

It is funny how none of there other stuff sounds like it ...when I first heard it live it was purely acoustic, granted a lot of songs change when they go to the radio.

Like MSIs 1989...it used to not have that loud bass right before they said 1989. and a few motion city soundtracks songs changed a lot when they were first created...like capitol H.

Well it always feel very interesting to know a band before they blow up.

To quote high fidelity...

"Some things you just never get over, ... , like the night your band opened for nirvana"

=D

Anyhow I was surprised to see this thread.

Just sounds melancholy and kinda depressing.

I thought I had heard this song before. No wonder. I usually don't complain about the music today, but they're getting so bad that they just re-release their same crap now?

it's about the strength of love and how they've got planes and trains and cars
but he'd walk to her if he had no other way.

i don't find that depressing. that's awesome.

Hah, you just quoted the song as the explanation of the song?

Funny stuff. =p

no kidding. quoting the lyrics, although i did change it from the actual words, is an easy way to explain a song.

...unless the song has no words!..*creeeepppyy*

Never heard it before. Not terribly impressed, but that's because it's simply not my kind of music.

heard it for the first time just 2 weeks ago while on vacation in Ormond beach in FL with the then gf, now fiance. love this song. will always remind me of where we were - parked in front of a BoA in Ormond Beach at dusk, looking thru the passenger window at the girl i was going to ask to marry me, waiting in front of the ATM, looking back and smiling at me. ah what a sweet memory it is

Are you sure that's the word you're looking for?

Prosaic

Additionally, I don't think all songs need to have some deep meaning with hidden messages. This isn't Shakespearean poetry we're talking about, it's a love song.

Nice song.

Unfortunately, I heard the parody before I heard the original and I am afraid I can never listen to this song again without a stupid smirk on my face.

The parody is likely NSFW.

It is very cool. It is cool to see them change, sometimes good sometimes bad.

I hope they come out with another 'hit' though...

It's catchy, but I don't like it (and it's been overplayed for a while now).

Plus I hate most songs that just repeat the same short riff over and over again (think all Snow Patrol songs).

Hehe, I know. I remember reading somewhere that Don McLean had a hard time singing 'American Pie' after his kids starting playing Weird Al's 'The Saga Begins' over and over again. Apparently he kept singing Weird Al's lyrics.

I like this song a lot, good lyrics and tune.

I love not listening to the radio so much anymore, though I do hear it a lot when I listen. I see how it's getting overplayed...

I remember the first time I heard this song a few weeks ago whilst driving back to NYC from Memorial Day vacation with my gf.

The general theme is overplayed, but we both liked it and for some reason our hands reaches over to grasp each other whenever it plays. Weird

Its an easy song to play on guitar, easy song to sing. You know it will stick with the acoustic dudes at the bars when it gets a little older and falls off the charts.

i liked it at first, but damn it's being overplayed so i've grown to dislike it... but it's great for sentimental folks, and a good easy-going sentimental song if you're in that mood.

I just heard it again on the radio. Along with a bunch of crap, that reminds me why I don't listen to the radio anymore.

Sick of it

Satellite radio was wearing it out awhile back so by the time it started being played on local radio here, I had already heard it way too many times. I really enjoyed it the first few times I heard it but now I pretty much have to change the station when it comes on.

I don't listen to the lyrics. I pretty much just hear the opening and change it to something else. The sound of the song is depressing to me, I couldn't care less what the lyrics are.
