The "too much bandwidth" is just a BS excuse. The browser caches it once it downloads the first image of each smiley, so their servers are not getting hit harder because of the pic. What it does do is slow down your browser quite a bit (if you're browsing on a P166, that is).

I'm nowadays devoting my computers to climateprediction.net... There's hardly speak of competition there because after 2 weeks I've still not turned in a single workunit (the workunits are very large and take a few weeks to process )... Oh and I'm doing this only to predict how the excessive use of energy in the DC-world will influence the climate

In my spare time I am still trying to get my masters degree in Science... I must say I'm doing pretty well
