...I also lost a ring in your backyard, but it was only 200.00. I'll PM you my paypal or you can send a check. Which do you prefer?

... what does a high school class ring cost now a days.

Our babysitter lost her class ring in my back yard and said it cost $400. But she only spent 15 minutes looking for it and hasn't come back in a week.

I personally think shes trying to scam us but my wife thinks she actually lost it.

~$400.00 US is actually a reasonable price depending on the stone & metal lykaon78.

I remember walking by one of those tables senior year and glancing at the price and saying fuck no. That's about it. IMO I wouldn't spend 100 dollars on one.

assuming she actually lost it in his backyard. She prolly lost it somewhere else or pawned it and shes trying to scam the OP into buying a new one.

I think you might live in a section of the country where they dont believe in spending lots of money on class rings.

When I graduated in 1997 the absolute cheapest ring was 70 bucks and that was for a mass-produced item that allowed no customizing.
The most expensive they offered us (middle class Minneapolis suburb) was 500 bucks for lots of gold and a semi-precious stone.
The average ring actually purchased at my school was around 250 bucks, on an installment plan.
For those of you who were wondering, this was Jostens.

Random fact: Heard from some rich kids in the nicer neighborhoods that Jostens offered them $1000+ rings and some people did buy them.
Again, this was back in '97.

$100.00? :Q

Maybe my high school was just incredibly ghetto, the rings weren't exactly high class but they weren't plastic either...

Or you are an idiot.

I'm breaking the agreement just to agree with you.

not really dude, back in 2000 they cost like 400+ depending on what you wanted, and this was in backwater fucking bumblefuck nowhere

the rings are pretty much exactly the same everywhere only the name changes

wait until you get into high school and have the chance to buy one, then you'll see how much they really cost.

i think mine was around $300 or so. that was in 1998. I don't think I ever wore it except to try it on.

edit: read your later post stating that you are "old" (not sure i believe it based on your posts), but if it is true, then maybe you should have mentioned that in the beginning.

How long has she been out of High School?

It seems that the ring MAY be automatically covered by the manufacturer against LOSS.

The main question here is why would the OP be responsible for someone losing something on their property?

Can I make the government cover my car if it's stolen?

No but the government makes you have car insurance, which probably covers it.

1) Buy a metal detector.
2) Use it and find ring yourself then hide it in house.
3) Invite her over to use metal detector to find it (she obviously won't).
4) Tell her "Oops, guess you didn't lose it in our backyard sorry but we don't owe you shit."
5) ???
6) Profit.
