Hi ned more advice on cpu cooling

Hi i am just wondering cause i am building my comp a 1600+ Athlon , ESC K7S5a motherboard what heatsink and fan both together could keep my cpu cool something affordable and with the suggestion can you give me a site. Thanx all

SK6 w/ Delta for less than $40.00. If u dun mind the "jet engine" sound.

If not overclocking, just get the retail version and it will come with a limited yet viable heatsink as well as a 3-year warranty. If you plan on overlocking, SK-6 gives best bang for the buck. (You might want to check out the PAL8045 at SVCompucycle.

The max temp I've seen on my system under gaming load is 42C, using Alpha 8045U (Delta fan comes with that model). Fan noise is not excessive at all. Temp monitored with Hardware Doctor on Abit KR7A/Raid, XP1600+@145MHz FSB, running Thief II.

I'm not familiar with your ECS motherboard. This heatsink mounts with 4 through-board studs - so your mother board must have these holes pre-drilled to accept this cooler (Same mounting for Swiftech coolers).

I use the SK6 with Delta fan. I have grown accustomed to the sound and dont even notice it. I paid for $30 bucks for the combo from Newegg and it works great. Right now my CPU under full load is never more than 39C.

By the way its an XP1800+ @ 1610MHz.
