People love the carbines and the price that comes with them. Supposedly real easy to handle.

I never got into carbines myself. The only one I might ever buy are the M1s coming into the CMP.

I would never, under any circumstance, buy a high-point firearm. You get what you pay for.

Thanks but no thanks. I don't doubt that Hi-Points are adequately safe, but when I'm holding something in my hand that relies on explosives to function, I'd just as soon it wasn't made of recycled Christmas ornament hooks.

Agreed.

But I dont buy on price or reviews. I buy on reliability and how *I* shoot it.

They are ugly. They are cheap. They are ugly.
Never fired one so I can't really comment about the accuracy or consistancy. There is something to be said for inexpensive firearms though. I bought a Bersa Thunder .380 and love the thing. Actually bought it for my wife but I carry it as a back-up to my Kimber.
Did I mention they are ugly?

My roommate in college bought a Hi-Point. Sold it shortly thereafter. Wasn't long before the cops called him asking him about his gun which had been used in a crime. :Q It's a modern saturday night special.

Mk. 23 SOCOM .45 ACP

USP .45 Tactical

USP Compact .40

P7M8 9mm

The Mk. 23 and the P7M8 were both bought as collection pieces, since they are both discontinued, but I carry the P7 often - probably one of the most accurate 9mm handguns ever produced.

Sweet, I didn't get a chance to buy any of the Greeks. I figured two Garands was enough for a while.

I need the Carbine to round out my WWII US rifles section and ever since SPR and BoB prices went through the roof.
