Hey everyone.

My HID bulbs finally went out in my car (after 90k miles no doubt).

I've never purchased replacement bulbs before for these, so i was wondering what everyone recommends.

a good bang for the buck is necessary. Mine are D2R bulbs.

i was thinking 6000k would be fine, not sure if it's right tho
Thanks !

I know the OEM bulbs for my car are like $90 each....

Whatever you do, don't buy super blue bulbs, have them only have a slight blue tint to them......

yeah, i'm not sure what color range that is,
I was looking at this:

Xetronic HID Xenon D2S/D2R

6000k Bulbs seem good. They're a bit pricy, and I'm not sure what is a trusted vendor these days.

Don't be tempted by high K bulbs, they are very blue/indigo but provide much less useful illumination.

Get a set of phillips 4300k bulbs, any higher k and it starts turning blue. 4300 is as white as it can be.

Volcano brand hid bulbs? Stick with phillips, those are oem bulbs and will last the longest.
Again 6500k is more blue then white, all cars with oem hids use 4300k.

Yeah the second 5k Philips look good to me. Do that. Ignore the 5k+ bulbs. Don't worry about the colour, it's all about light, not showing off.

Sounds good. I ordered the Philips 5k bulbs.
Thank you guys for all your help! Without it, I might have ended up getting 6500k Bulbs -_-''

how about telling us what kind of car? Looks like you are going to need to remove some items behind the light...have you tried from underneath yet?

Yeah, that's what the dealer told me. The tech said I would need to take out the bolt behind the light (with the big tank), but the thing is, there are all types of hoses and stuff connected to it, so not sure if he was accurate in his info.

This is what he was talking about.

Can't get access from the bottom. The lights weren't designed to get access from the bottom. The casing can only be removed from the top. It clips in on both sides.

I tried taking out the whole thing, but it's actually...VERY VERY large -_-''

It has a lot of things connected to it. I don't think I can remove it.
Any other suggestions?

yeah, You were right.

It was a very very tight squeeze, but I managed to get it installed. They look superb compared to the old ones. I'll post pics at night. Took me like an hour to get the cover back on >_<
hands were too big.

the passenger side on my nissan was similar for the projector...damn bulb fell inside the housing during removal. Luckily a shop vac and hose worked.
