It begins with a p, ends with an n, and rhymes with torn.

You can also right click a file or folder, click properties, and check the hidden attribute box in the menu. Marginal, but it should work to stop most people.

Why not just move the files to an obscure directory and rename them if you are scared.

You can name them like bin.dll, hostfix.dll and rename them when you wish to .... view them, assuming the files are what I think.

All of my "questionable" files/material start with two of these: !! for the file/folder name.

If I ever need to lose the data for a period of time, I run a quick and dirty DOS script to hide and move everything with one click. It's a piece of cake. The only commands you really need to know are: ren, move (or xcopy/del), attrib and the path(s). Of course there is an "undo" batch file as well.

This has served me well and will continue to do so until I get around to setting this up.

LOL

Man, what I did was just went into some Windows or Program Directory. I made a shitload of folders. A...B...C and then each of the folders had a subfolder, and each of those folders had a subfolder. I'd make it spell something, for kicks. Anyways, all of the folders were hidden as well and no one ever found my stash.

just change the directory name from porn to pron....see how simple and clever that is, change the position of two letters and no one will ever know its porn...

better yet, the C:\windows\all users\desktop folder should do nicely.
the startup folder could yield better results.
recent documents could screw you, though.

Back it up on CD, and you can introduce yourself to the world of pron trading with your high school buddies.

Stick it in a directory that looks pretty ambiguous, rename the files to gibberish with a strange extension or no extension at all. If they get clicked they won't open. They'd have to drag and drop the file into the player or editor or browse to it from the program to actually open it, not gonna happen. Worked for me. Of course my dad was dumb and always left whatever he was looking at in the my documents list, lol. I lost count the number of times my mom clicked something in there and started screaming for me to delete his crap!

back in the days when I had to hide it, I put it in a hidden folder off the c:\windows\system\ called some thing obscure like "cache32". I got caught once via the damn recent files on the start menu....

If you just hide it in an obscure place in the C drive, I'm sure your parents won't go looking into your WINDOW folder unless you have geeks for parents.

All good ideas
I've been hiding the files in WINDOWS folders and stuff but I was just wondering if there was a better way.
I set it to hidden on properties, but how do I unhide it?
