i just hope the "Timex Alarm" logo and little yellow patch on the top aren't too tacky....

i needed an inexpensive "everyday" watch....thanks DeeTees

I just received this one.

Came retail box with all the manuals & an $86.95 price sticker on it.

A lot "heavier" than I thought it would be. Nice watch.

Campmor really is the newegg of outdoor supply. Having shoped with them the last coupla years, their sales are really incredible. Also, the staff (as mentioned by many) in their retail store is great as well. Also, for people interested in higher end equipment (Gore-tex jackets, etc.) their products carry a full warranty as opposed to the outlet stuff.

I'm curious, does anyone know how accurate these Timex watches are? Like how long does it take them to lose/gain 1 sec after syncing it with the atomic time?

Thanx

LOL, like it matters? Is your schedule that tight that you gotta worry about those extra seconds?

Got my watch yesterday.....very nice I used to wear a Swiss Army steel watch all the time, but it kept getting more scratches on it. My new Timex actually looks pretty damn cool. The silver on the face is more of a gunmetal. Definitely doesn't look or feel like a "cheap" watch. Thanks again DeeTees

MisterKingdom, those are some fine looking fishy watches you wear to the bank!

Timex are cool watches, they last forever! My father when he died I received part of his watches which were a Rolex (he never wore it), a Bulova (he wore it through WWII and on to work) and 2 Timex's one he purchased in about 1952 or so and another he purchased in mid 1960's. The Bulova and the Timex's still keep perfect time, the Rolex won't work and hasn't for about 16 years....but the other thee I look at them from time to time in the drawer where I keep them and there they are ticking away. I still have my first Timex my parents got me in 1970 and it works fine (of course I don't wear it, it is a kids watch).
Timex's are very dependable !

I've had my Timex Data Link for about three years, paid $30 for it from Timex.

The only problem, other than the fact that most of the watch is made from soft plastic and gets battered easily, is that there is no support for operating systems newer than Windows 95. You can buy an adapter for NT that may possibly work under 2000, but it costs as much as the watch.

Just my 2¢. Not my "$0.02", whatever that is.

Thanks DeeTees. My Seiko Kinetic just stopped holding a charge and I had to send it in for repair. They said that is could be up to a month before I receive it back. One of these will make a nice replacement until I can receive my Seiko back.

Those that are thinking of getting the stainless steel chronographs (black or silver), be advised these watches are fairly heavy. I bought a black one several months ago but hardly use it since it's feels uncomfortable on my wrist. Don't get me wrong. These watches are very nice looking and appear to be well made.

I took Timex watches on my bivouac's in the army. Let me tell you, those babies can withstand anything. I must've trekked them through mud, sand, dirt, water, and anything else you can think of. They took the beating better than Mike Tyson ever did.
