Campmor.com has a very good assortment of Timex Chronographs (leather band and stainless steel band) for less than $20.00.

These watches list from $75.00 to $89.00 and appear to be widely discounted around the net for $50-$60. If you are looking for a sharp and cheap watch check these out.

Earlier this week I ordered 2 from their web site. It now has a contruction notice and a Yohoo store link. I received the watches yesterday and have been receiving print catalogs from them for the last year so they appear on the up and up, even though they are currently Yahoo.store.

Anyone have experience with their Timex's Data Link watches Link

Are they useful with storing appointments?

sounds kinda funny that all you have to do is "point it at a monitor". I guess it could work though. Just seems odd. =/

FYI Value City B&M have had a wide assortment of $50-$80 Timex watches for $9.99 or $19.99 twice (that I know of) in the last year or so. Great deal -- I'm wearing one now. Probably will come around again.

The DataLink watches are nice, but the new Internet Messenger watches are far more capable. You can get one from either Skytel.com or Timex.com for $99 with a full year of premium service included (a $600 + value). You can download the manuals for either at Timex.com.

Normally they're $25+, but sales will bring it down to around $20. It's still a pretty good deal

Campmor is also pretty good. I ordered a ski jacket from them before. Just make sure the description and the picture matches the item you're ordering.

I have the Timex Ironman Triathalon that you linked to, and I really like it. Its very convienent to stick a few phone numbers and addresses into it. You can store numbers and along the bottom a small text area scrolls, at least on mine (a year or two old) so storing lots of text wouldn't work very well. I find it a very good watch, easy to read, and lots of alarms and chronos.

I have the Ironman DataLink. Its a good watch but when I upgraded my computer I found out that you can't use it with Win NT/2000/XP without an adapter. :disgust:It also won't work with notebooks without the adapter.

All in all, I still like the watch, I picked it up at Eckards a couple of years ago for $29. They had lost the software and were selling it cheap. A quick download and it works directlly with Outlook or Timex's software.

I'm just curious - is this an informed comment on the quality of Timex, or just a knee-jerk, conditioned-by-competitors-advertising reaction? Have you even owned a Timex watch made in, say, the last decade?

I ask because I'm checking my timex I bought last Nov against my computer clock reset daily against an internet timeserver and I see it is off by 3 seconds. Mind you I have never reset it since buying it, and I'm not sure I had it precisely set even then. It's reliable, it looks good, it has all thefeatures I wanted (analog, date display, thick real leather band, waterproof to 50 meters, indiglo -- a fantastic feature! -- and an alarm that I can set in 3 seconds without squinting by twisting an outer band and pulling a pin, and can be set for either just the minute hand or the hour+minute hand (invaluabe for setting timeouts for the kids or when I'm cooking and need a second timer). all for $16. my wife's timex and mother's are equally reliable AFAIK. FYI the watch it replaced was a Seiko so don't tell me I don't know the competition.

I guess my point is 1) maybe you like to pay more for brand name+less features, but not all of us do, and 2) what on earth were you contributing to the deal post anyway, other than dissing it to show off you have a "status" watch"?

p.s. it's not an exact match, but this is very close to the one I have (the main diff being I don't have that black band around the face, on mine it's white). Needless to say, the $16 I paid is looking even better.

Relax, I thought that it was a funny comment. I'm sure that he didn't mean to imply anything by it but that he doesn't like Timex watches. It was a joke and made some people laugh. Nobody should be hurt.

Nicely said MarkM........Timex is a good quality watch for everyday wear and tear....as thier slogan goes...."It takes a licking and keeps on ticking."
I still have every Timex I have ever bought in the last 20 years and all of them still work as good as the day i bought them. Then again....I am not into wearing the latest fad or buy into the status thing.....It is all about the best value for the best deal.

I think it's infrared or something. My kids have something similar they bought at Target for $8 or something.

Not sure who's hurt. But I'm also not sure whether such baseless brand snobbery belongs in a forum dedicated to getting the most value for your money. But, enough, yes lets move on.

Skytel is offering a 1yr free service subscription with the Internet Messenger watch. There is a thread on it here.

BTW these look like nice deals good find DeeTees.
