Im looking for a motherboard that will get me over the 330~ htt hump that I am at with this dfi nf3 board.

What are my best options? I thought the epox 9npa+ ultra for $93 shipped would suite me but im not sure its a guaranteed 330+ htt board.

so I would like to get something has the best chance of getting me over 330. I dont care for sli.

so im guesing my best bet is with the LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D? i dont know why but the non ultra is more expensive on zipzoomfly. I believe the ultra adds sata2? is that the only difference?

NEED INPUT!!

I don't think you're guaranteed to get significantly higher than 330 with any board on the market. Any of the boards you've mentioned would have a good bet of reaching it, though.

Dunno if you'll be able to hit that with any board, like Allo said. The most popular for overclocking is DFI, so you'd likely get more support and input on a DFI board if you got the one you said. I have an Epox 9NPA+SLI that I'm very, very happy with, and the overclocking options are quite nice. It's really up to you. For good support and higher cost, DFI. For lower cost, lower power consumption, and solid (but not as good as DFI) OC options, Epox.

The Ultra boards do not support "true" SLI. The SLI boards do. That's the main difference. Don't ask me to explain it, cause I don't know much about SLI (yet), but that's what I know.

doesn't everyone like the idea of an Opteron 144/165 running at 300x9=2700MHz on air-cooling? ;-)

333x9=~3Ghz. Possible on air-cooling? I don't know but worth a shot, eh? That 'is' the dream of every A64 overclocker.

The DFI Expert board has hit around ~375HTT from some mainstream reviews I read a long time ago. Some extreme OC sites have also shown it at ~400HTT or above (don't know how stable that is for intense operations). But it is a pricey board. You are probably right that the DFI Ultra-D is the best option for you. I'd say go for it!

I've seen somewhere that the Asrock 939 dual sata 2 could do it with a mod BIOS. ATI latest chipset can do it too. But you need more than a motherboard.. You need RAM that will comply and a CPU that will comply too... And lot of luck
