I have an eVGA Ultra, so by default I would underclock the card from 400 to 350 with that BIOS.
Do I understand correctly that with the new BIOS there is no difference between a GT and an Ultra? Until you overclock where a card that was an Ultra originally will likely go higher?

this is why i nick named the file "GTU", it the best of both worlds for both cards

no no no, you are misinterpriting what i was tryin to say. let me rephrase...Originally posted by: zakee00
do you mean GT cards will be much faster at the same clock due to faster mem timings? i thought ultras timings were relaxed

Ultra cards with the GTU bios will be much faster then a Ultra card with a Ultra bios at the same clock.
both cards will be equally as fast as each other at the same clock if using the GTU bios.
hows that?

OK, im pulling the plug on GT card support. too many of them cant handle the 1.4v requirement
this bios is now only for Ultra cards and Ultra PCB based cards. Ultra PCB based cards can handle upto 1.6v so there is no problem there.

no, some GT cards just plain arent built well enough to handle 1.4v at all. has nothing todo with cooling, its poor quality electronics and PCB.
if your GT card can run 1.4v feel free to use it, but if it doesnt work there is nothing you or i can do about it. youll know during your 1st benchmark if it works or not.
an Ultra PCB has dual molex power connections.Originally posted by: darkswordsman17
I don't know if you've already detailed this, and sorry if you have, but you might want to explain what justifies Ultra PCB based cards.
not personally, but i havent had the time to even pay attention. might wanna try MVKTech.net forums and see whats going on in there.Originally posted by: Cdubneeddeal

Well, I only paid $425 plus shipping (I had it overnighted so I could set everything up the weekend before school started back up), and this was when you couldn't find a normal GT for anywhere near MSRP.
I had been deadset on an Ultra, but seeing how hard it would be to get one, I thought I'd just go ahead and jump on a GT, and then ended up with tbe best of both worlds.
