lol my luck i swear..wow thats a GREAT price, listen to this irony:
i paid $400 for my eVGA 6800GT which comes with crappy GT reference cooling, 350/1000. I HAD a 9600 Pro in my previous rig, but I sold it to a friend to help pay for my new system! If I would have stumbled across this wonderful deal, I could have had a better card for a lower price.
Bump!

All right, thanks.
I am mostly interested in the lower 2D voltage. The card is fast enough in 3D for me, but power consumption is uncomfortable and I want alternate cooling with less noise.
Just theoretically, if my card doesn't like the new BIOS and fails to work, can I boot on a PCI VGA card and flash the Ultra back with its original BIOS? Will your flasher "find" the inactive card in the AGP slot?
Do you have any benchmarks of an Ultra if you don't do coolbits overclocking? Does the tighter memory latency make good for the lower clockspeed?

I don't know if you've already detailed this, and sorry if you have, but you might want to explain what justifies Ultra PCB based cards.
a few GT cards are Ultra PCB with only a single molex (like Gainward) but they are very rare. (they usually have dual DVI ports)

Did anyone try this with a BFG 6800GT even though thugs is not "officially" supporting the GT's anymore? Currently with a NV 5 (I used BOTH AS5 and ASC, AS5 on the chip, ASC on the ram) I run my GT at 420/1100, idle at 52c load at 64c. I am using coolbits to OC and when I hit the detect optimal it puts my speeds at 432/1140 though I have not gone that high yet.
I would love to push a little more preformance out of it but am not sure at the moment as my card is going pretty strong. Also, not to ask a super noob question or anything... but... what do the MOSFETS look like? Are they absolutly neccesary to remount and can that be done with just AS5/C or do I need to use my AS epoxy?
