I recently purchased a Samsung UN39FH5000F. I love everything about this set except one minor detail...
I noticed that when the set is on standby there is a high pitched noise that seems to originate from around the power supply. When I plug in my Xbox into the first HDMI port (set and Xbox are in standby) this noise intensifies. When I connect my computer to the other HDMI port, the noise becomes even more audible. Similarly, when I unplug each device the sound will diminish.
I have tried running the set off a seperate power outlet/surge protector from my Xbox and computer and the results are the same.
My question to you is this: Do you think I have hit a simple case of bad luck? Perhaps a bad board/cap within the set? Or do you think this might have something to do with my setup or an electrical issue within my home? My greatest fear is returning the set for a replacement, getting home, and finding that the exact same thing is going on, resulting in me returning the set yet again!
I appreciate any useful feedback
