You must have missed his thread last year. His "income" might be impressive (if it is even true), but there is this little technicality where he is working another job while his primary employer his paying him to supposedly do his job. In other words, he is double-dipping. I'm surprised that thread wasn't nominated for the self-ownage category because at first, he claimed his current boss was "OK" with it and then as people called BS, he basically admitted what he was doing and said "playing by the rules" was for suckers.

oh crap, that's right! LOLLLL

Where was that study that showed comparing yourself to others makes people the least happy? Funny he focuses on people from his HS, must make him feel the best.

You must be a dumbass.

How many times are you going to say this, until I need to correct you.

I do 1099, which means I have no relationship with what you call "a employer". You can do as many 1099 as you want. As a mater of fact my future plans are to hire someone who can pick up some of the work, not sure if I want to get involved in that yet (i'm doing fine).

You have a feable mindset, but i'm sorry for you.

I do know what a 1099 is, moron.

However, let's revisit what you said last year:

Oh look, another TommyGT....errr, I mean, steppinthrax thread. You do know that you can get fired for working your "second" job while on company time, right?
Actually my current employer doesn't care if I work a second job. I spoke to him previously about this and he was OK with it. I'm already on a second position, but leaving this for this better second position.

When I pointed out you were likely double-billing your time, here was your response:

Because you play by the rules like a little naive child. And we all know what happens to those who play by the rules.....

I know a guy like this at my current work. He's in his 50's and still doing development work. He gets walked over by people half his age and then they go on to get certs and make higher money than him.... He worked for a bank for 20 years until he was laid off.....

IndyColtsFan said:

If by "playing by the rules" you mean having integrity, ethics, and not cheating my company by working for someone else while they pay me, guilty as charged. If you have to get ahead by cheating, well, you're really not that good.

It is pretty obvious you're double-dipping on your company's time and it is probably a pretty good bet neither party knows or at least, knows the details. I called it in the last thread like this that you posted and several other posters call it here too and pretty much told you the exact same thing too. If I'm wrong and your boss knows all the details and still allows it, take my advice and watch your back.

Shall I continue? You NEVER denied double-billing your time and in fact, when I mentioned it, accused me of "playing by the rules."

You have a feable mindset, but i'm sorry for you.
Please little man, don't flatter yourself -- you're a moron. BTW, the word is "feeble."

I'm 39.

In HS .... totally average grades. Hobbies like shooting hoops and playing backyard football. Never played high school sports. Thought it was a waste of time. Other hobby was writing programs. And I was totally socially awkward. I'm probably on the spectrum somewhere. I was shy as hell. Today, the shyness is gone and I have a good job as a software engineer.

I often ponder what the OP brought up but I don't waste my time. Why? Is it knowable? Yes. Is it important? No. That and I have a hatred for others that try sizing other people up so I find it a personal imperative to not care about these things.

The hilarity is that I'm probably in better physical shape than most of my classmates these days. Have a goal of a half marathon one day but not an important goal.

I still wonder if steppinthrax and TommyGT2000 are the same person.

Hard to tell..? I mean, if neither are bored 35yo fat men sitting in their mom's basement, they both suck pretty hard.

The difference is though, Steppie participates in his pwnage threads, whereas Tommy is a ring-and-run type of troll.

Is it too early to for 'pwnage of the year' nominations?

I can't tell if this is satire, or if OP is really this sad of a person.

So time has past since I wrote that threat. I"m not longer doing w2 and 1099. Just 1099, so now everything is ethical (according to your standards anyway). But I"m sorry your sad that I make more than you.

So I'm 32 now, I found my H.S. yearbook from the class of 2000. I have most of my H.S. alumni on facebook. It's pretty interesting seeing the contrast of where they were in H.S. and where they are now!!!!!

-The H.S. bully who was big shit works in construction making a few hundred dollars a week and was on facebook recently crying about how he makes so little due to child support payments and his vehicle is becoming shit!

-A stuck up girl who did very well for herself, was in the high social bee, she now works for the Dollar Store.

-A whole slew of jocks working mediocre jobs (wage based, low autonomy).

-One person is incarcerated, popular kid (another big shit).

-One other person I knew was a genius, he would build circuits etc.... His grades were much better than me! He achieved a near perfect SAT score. Now he's installing residential solar panels on top of roofs.

-Many other examples that include most of the 260 or so graduating class.

-One person got into the Naval Academy. Made a big deal about it, bragged about it to my face!!! A few months later I saw him at Advance Auto Parts in rough shape. I asked him about the Naval Academy, he mumbled and said he was at community college!!!!

The H.S. I went to made a huge deal about the performance of the students. The school had an above average SAT score, high average GPA and high number of valedictorians. They published this data on the front of the yearbook to show how good their students were. Yet many of them went to community college and/or in general ended up mediocre.

~50% of high school graduates who go to college drop out of college.

I do notice you keep dodging the question, which I find interesting. It doesn't matter if you're W2 or 1099 - are you double-billing your time? Regardless, I do think if you intend on hiring folks and getting more contracts, that's the way to go. A friend and I are going to do the same.

And no, I'm not sad if you do make more than me. Why would I be? As I pointed out, there are braindead morons making more money in a year than you'll likely ever see (see: Russell, Jamarcus). Do you worship those people? Only one of us is a miserable troll fixating on people from high school, and it isn't me.

I work two separate 1099's for two separate companies!!!!! When you do 1099 the company doesn't care how you do the work, they just care that it gets done one time and within the quality control. You can even hire people to perform the work (next step for me).

You don't have the concept of what 1099 is.

Hence why you probably make only 45k a year.....
