My 9th grade class had something like 1200 students in it. My graduating class was a little over 300... hopefully some of them did something with themselves.

My brother dropped out in 10th grade, teachers said he couldn't learn so no point in him staying. He now runs his own business, makes more than I do with college degrees, has his home paid for, and has never taken a dime from taxpayers to support him.

It is all about your attitude and not willing to just wait for things to happen.
Example: my niece, 22 who has no job and complains about lack of money. Ask her what has she done to try to get work, well she put in 1 application a few weeks ago. Apparently employers now come door to door looking for workers ?

Not to mention some of the bigger scientific and/or business minds didn't do well in school either. Einstein and Gates come to mind.

Gates dropped out of Harvard, I wouldn't quite call that "not doing well in school".

Gates did EXTREMELY WELL his entire academic career. He dropped out of Harvard because he saw a rising trend, he had the skills to bank on it, and wanted to seize the day and got really lucky.

The thread isn't dumb. That list proves you don't need school to be successful. I'm not saying school is bad, but it's not necessary.

Success also has almost nothing to do with how smart you are. It's just a bonus and gives you more opportunities but it isn't the #1 determining factor IMO.
