PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Some parents at Dwyer High say a teacher went way too far when he gave some of his psychology students a sex quiz Monday, a quiz that's filled with sexual innuendos and crude, sexually-charged language.

When CBS12 called teacher Frank Rozanski for comment, he hung up.

TOO RACY?: See the quiz and judge for yourself

The quiz, labeled a "sexual tension quiz" and apparently intended to be humorous, was given to about 25 students ages 16 to 18 in Rozanski's advanced placement psychology class. The quiz is widely distributed on the internet and something you might have found in your e-mail in-box or on Facebook.

But some parents say the questions are so sexually-inappropriate that its mind boggling that a teacher would even put them on a quiz in the first place.

The principal at Dwyer says Rozanski gave the quiz because his psychology class was studying social norms and how social situations make people think a certain way. The teacher has been "disciplined," according to school officials, but they won't say how. He will not be fired.

Some parents find the whole thing hard to believe. "It's just sexual innuendo questions, kind of questions and I don't like that at all," one parent said.

There's a link to the quiz in the article. Given the ages of the students and that it was an AP Psych class, I don't think the parents have a leg to stand on here. Students between 16-18 years old are going to be well acquainted with all manner of sexual topics. If the parents think otherwise, they are seriously deluded.

Haha, thats quite the quiz. I don't really see the point of giving that out in school?!? It's like a dirty tricky riddle quiz.

Read the quiz. The teacher should be severely disciplined if it's his first offense. If this is not the first time, he needs to be fired. The article you quoted does not address whether this is an isolated incident or not.

The question here is whether the quiz is appropriate. Yes, kids in that age group know it all, I did in the fourth grade. This just comes across as a pervert teacher getting his rocks off looking for reactions from his students. He got a reaction from the school administrators and the parents instead.

He's a dumb ass.

How so? At that age, they're mature enough. Likely, they all make jokes far more obscene than these questions.

That might be true, but try making a quiz for say history in this format. Should all test questions be in the format of jokes? What is this test really teaching anyway?

Link to the test: http://www.cbs12.com/articles/quiz-4731419-big-down.html

I would be pissed too as a parent, and I am no prude.

Except this is a psychology class, not a history class. Its the study of the human mind. Tests and studies aren't always going to be cut&dry, black and white.

I can see that, but would you be comfortable helping your daughter study for this test?

You're a dumb ass. It's a psychology class and that quiz is about human psychology more than it's about sex. The words on it are riddles to innocuous things worded in such a way so as to show that humans think about sex A LOT. Of course the kids are going to laugh at it - so do adults. The kids should be made to understand that sex is a common and normal thing, not some taboo subject that they don't get to talk about.

That sort of quiz would be appropriate material in a college-level psychology class; why shouldn't it be allowed in a high school?

It's not a quiz for marks that you study for...

It's a pop quiz he gave in class so the students could see how they answered. Undoubtedly they talked about the results and answers afterwards. The quiz was a demonstration, not a test.

The sexual repression in this country is overwhelming. It's a sad state of affairs when something like this is even "news". We are a country of prudes, and it shows in our teen pregnancy rates, STD transmissions, and just general bad attitudes.

How about grade school? It's a quiz made up of simple words. It doesn't take a lot of brain power to figure out what the quiz is all about. Third graders, fourth? Tell us what grade level you feel is appropriate. You started out with college and then corrected yourself with the high school remark.

It's a good thing we have educators willing to teach us what we already know, that being that we think about sex a lot.

How much money do you think we should put towards these problems to solve them?

you are an idiot. that "quiz" is total in apportionment and crosses the line for HS. I have two HS kids and a quiz like that has no place in a HS i dont care if it is a AP class. If one of my kids teachers gave that test to one of my kids i would be raising hell with the principal.

A demonstration of what then exactly?

And HS is the right venue to undo one's sexual repression? How does the knowledge imparted here help undo teen pregnancy rates, STD's, etc?

I get what you are saying, but I don't see the connection between this quiz and the issue you raise.

I can see some people in this thread 'got it' and some did not. I miss psychology, was an interesting class to take.

I see nothing wrong with this in an AP Psych class, seems like a totally appropriate exercise. Perhaps even more so considering who it was given to.
