Hey guys, I recently built my first watercooling system and i think i did something wrong. I have a Q6600 G0, and @ 2.6ghz it idles around 38C, and on load around 46.

It was OC'ed to 3.0 today but the temps almost got up to 60C.....!
Computer froze so i just lowered it down until i get all this figured out.
The only thing that comes to mind is that i might have not seated it the right way, it my second actual build.

WC parts are:
Dtek fuzion V2
fuzion quad nozzle
mcr220
mcp655
7/16 Masterkleer

What are you using to measure temps? Is that 38c case temp (CPU housing) or one of the cores? What sort of fans on your rad? The easiest first step is make sure your mounting is even and locked down tight. If that doesn't work try repasting.

Ensure your quad nozzle is turned the correct way.......

Try remounting the Fuzion....sometimes a remount makes a big difference.....

Sure you got all the air out of your components, too? Tried rocking your assembled case back and forth, side to side, to see if there's an air pocket, esp. in the rad.......

Head over to Xtremesystems.org....huge watercooling sub-forum there.......lots of help, too.

Looking at your pics in the gallery,

Tip your case back while running, that will ensure the rad is bled.
I can't tell from the pics, is that pump a vario? is the speed set to "5" or high speed?
after that I'd be looking at your mount, too much TIM maybe? The pro mount screws bottom out, are they?
Lastly the nozzle, with the case standing the center bar or splitter in the nozzle should be horizontal.

Yep, i mounted the fuzion wrong...thinking about how the nozzle looks made me realize it. The bar in the middle is vertical at the moment...lol

Everything bled out pretty well, i rocked the hell out of it right before everything was turned on. The pump is not a vario.

the ambient temp is above 30C, im not home but i remember it being around 35C at ambient or even higher.

When i take the block off to reseat it, should i clear off the thermal paste and re-apply a new layer.
I am using arctic silver 5 just like the website says to use it.....line in the middle of cpu.

Absolutely. You always want to clean and use fresh TIM every time you reseat your blocks.

that's to be expected, the paste performs a little better after "curing" or drying out a little

with ambient temps that high i would't expect much better
unless you get a bigger radiator and higher power fans you're gonna have high temps
