Highest OCing Ti4400s and Ti4600s?

Got my PNY Ti 4400 running at 311/641. 3DMark locked up at 315 core speed, and I my desktop locked when I rebooted with 650 memory speed. This is with stock cooling (PNYs don't come with memory heatsinks either).

Actually it's not as risky to overclock a cpu, and I upgrade it about twice a year anyway while I want my video card to last two years.

My Gainward 4600 is running at 330MHz core and 750MHz mem. I had to replace the core hsf though to get it stable at 330MHz.

Do you have Dungeon Siege BFG. I was wonderin cause that mofo has brought this card to its knees. Thats with eveything cranked though. I just wanted to know your thoughts.

You mean how I replaced the HSF? I just got an old cpu cooler from a friend and drilled holes in it to line up with the holes in the video card then bolted it onto the card using plastic washers to separate the nut from the board. I did have to grind down the side of the heat sink because it was hitting a capacitor. I lost the use of 3 pci slots adding the larger hsf but not a problem because I was only using the bottom 2.

I just bought a Siluro GeForce 4-Ti4600 and I've got it overclocked to 425 core and 425 (850) memory. Can't go any higher or it locks up.

I seriously doubt that false christian.... the best overclock Ive seen is 325/760, what you have there is pretty impossible.

I thought you were getting the Leadtek? I think you did good getting the Gainward. I like the ref nV cooling solution over the 2 fan (noisy) overkill heatsink design of the Leadtek. BTW, ordered a VisionTek 4600 last night .

Got my Creative Labs GF4 Ti4400 to 310/670 and it stable, my CPU is the bottleneck now because anything over 620 mem and 3dmarks dont go up hardly.

Have you actually heard a Leadtek? 2 fans does not noisy make, my friend. They're actually very quiet.

I just got my Leadtek 4400 fired up last night, and scored 9,700 at stock speed. That was on 28.32 drivers. I just disabled vsync, turned off anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, and set everything for maximum performance.

I didn't have much time to play with it last night, but did a quick OC to 310/620. I got 10,160 with that.

Well, it seems the card is getting slower as it gets hot.

I ran 3dMark a bunch of times, changing my memory speed, and got the following results (Core speed for all tests is 305MHz with Detonator 28.32)...

650 - 10273
670 - 10326
680 - 10204
690 - 10174
690 - 10156
690 - 10097
670 - 10106
670 - 10093
670 - 10073

I gave it about a half hour to cool off, installed 28.90 drivers, and got the following (Core speed again at 305MHz)...

650 - 10525
690 - 10469

Then I let it cool for about a half hour, set the memory to 670, and got 10573!

I've been asked all these questions but the thread must've dropped off the first page before I could answer them.

FYI the final score for my card is 330/720 and that's 100% stable with 0% artifacts or screen glitches at that setting. That's with stock cooling and no case cooling mods or volt mods on the video card. I'm happy with that and I probably shan't push it any higher.

No but I hear that the game is pretty demanding.

I was going to but it was delayed for two weeks and I was able to get the Gainward the next day as they had it in stock. The 2D image quality on the Gainward is superb; it's just as good as my Leadtek Ti500 was at 1600 x 1200 x 85 Hz and both cards are just as good as my Radeon. The DVI->VGA connectors do not degrade the image quality at all.

I like the ref nV cooling solution over the 2 fan (noisy) overkill heatsink design of the Leadtek.

To be fair the Leadtek overclocks quite well (probably better than the Gainward) and from what I hear the dual-fans are not noisy at all. The truth is you can't go wrong with either card.

i overclocked mine to 310/675 with crystal orb...only $10 + tax = $10.83... haven't try any higher
with stock cooling i got about 305/660 I think

I notice people who had a ti4400 would have a higher score in the nature test than i do...which is at least 10fps...sometimes 20fps...i have almost the exact same set up or sometimes better...but my nature scores still sucked...check my 3DMark2k1SE link below

I know that people who had similar set up have at least 70+fps...i barely have 50+fps
at one point or another i had the higher nature score result...but now i don't have that high score anymore...i tried reinstalling drivers...didn't work...help please
