Highlight SEARCH Feature?

Hi,
While visiting other forums (HardOCP), I've noticed that after doing a search, the results will have the key words in the search HIGHLIGHTED or exposed in a different color, which makes it very easy to find whatever one might be searching for!

This used to be a feature before the 'upgrade.' It'd be helpful if it were brought back.

It was a feature after the upgrade but it has been turned off. It's one of those no-win situations. I happen to hate that feature but a lot of people like it.

Upgrade is a bad word. What happened to fusetalk was the complete opposite, and continues on in this trend.

So are you stating that instead of performing one search we should perform two?

The highlighting of the keywords usually messed things up when people tried to post links to the threads they had searched for. I am happy it is gone.

That makes a whole lot of sense...if a feature doesn't work, just axe it instead of fixing it.

That highlight feature sucked balls. I'm glad it's gone. The first search is done with the forum software to return threads the correspond to your search criteria. You click on a thread and, instead of speed reading or skimming down the page for the highlighted words, you just make your browser search for whatever word you're looking for. It's really not that hard.
