Hijacking the REdhat Install

Ok, So I would like to partition my OS drive, resierfs, into two partitions, one of which will serve a fresh install of XP for games and such. THe problem is, and an obvious one at that, that I cannot use Qtparted/Parted while Linux is running. I've tried repeatedly to download Knoppix, but every mirror is for some reason or another CRAPPY AS HELL. Even perdue.edu craps out on me. For your information, I have no download associated problems, my pings are usally in the 30s etc....basically my connection is not @ fault from what I've gauged.


I would like to run qtparted to split the drive, but I cannot

1) find a reliable Knoppix mirror
2) Do not know of another live distribution that has QTparted instaleld by default.



a) would the Suse 9.0 Live-eval CD have it?
b) what other resources are @ my disposal...gentoolive cd?
c) Can I use the redhat CD and resize my partition WITHOUT installing it? Thanks Honestly I forgot.

I KNOW that I should not have installed linux first, but I assumed it would be enough. Unfortunately, I do miss BF1942 dearly, and want to try Call of Duty; both games which Linux will not give me access to.

Use a bootdisk (<10mb) instead of knoppix (700mb). Look for tomsrtbt, it might have a partition splitter.

Grab a parted boot disk image (scroll down the page). Since you're using RieserFS, you might want to check your version before doing it though.

Why not use bittorrent to get Knoppix?
