You have to wonder about him. How does someone as clearly brilliant as Carson end up where he is today? You don't get to be one of the world's most respected brain surgeons by being an idiot, but he just seems confused and bewildered every time he opens his mouth.

I went to a Seventh Day Adventist university (for undergrad), the one Carson actually made his infamous grain pyramid statements at, and I believed a lot of their doctrine myself back then. There were a decent number of people who were quite intelligent and talented in their fields of study who subscribed to the exact same kind of fundamentalist anti-scientific religious doctrines he did. You'll have to take my word for this when I say they (and I, prior to coming to my senses) weren't all in some kind of long con.

edit - But don't get me wrong; I'm from the school of thought where every politician finds the need to lie a lot just for the fact that they serve at the pleasure of the highest bidder for their services while having to pander for votes from those they really don't care about.

And it's even more impressive when you realize that she's the only candidate being scrutinized and questioned, the only candidate being squashed up against the glass ceiling, AND the only candidate under sniper fire.

And? Your options for reacting to a missile test would have been what? Nothing? Sanctions? Military strike? Tough talk?

The point is Clinton will have us continuing on a path of war through the middle east. Her role in orchestrating the Iranian deal is nice. But she clearly doesnt believe much in it if she calls for new sanctions on Iran hours after the previous sanctions were lifted. And Syria? Her no fly zone idea and pushing for regime change will work out as well as her Libyan policy.

As a result, Democrats ought to conclude that she hasn&#8217;t learned enough from her decision to support the Iraq War, and that a Clinton administration would likely pursue more wars of choice with poor judgment and insufficient planning. Me too. Now that was a perfect example of how artful demagoguery, societal culture clash and Hillary's desire to pander herself into being "just another American struggling to pay the bills" backfired so marvelously.

One would hope for more of the same this election season. If anything, it makes her look more "human" in some weird sense of the word.
