Breaking news story here and a potential presidential bid killer.

Once again the liberal media is silent on the subject!

Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act.

LIBERAL MEDIA?!?

Don't read address of your own links? Not that I'm buying into your premise of the LSM but the New York Times broke this story.

As for the substance I'm going to do something lacking from many here, be consistent. This is one of the many problems I have with Hillary. An obvious violation in rules and perception. Problems with ethics, problems with security et, al. John Kerry know enough to do State business on official email.

Those who are going to yell the loudest about excused Sarah Palin when she used yahoo for government business.

Reminds me of how the Bush Whitehouse used RNC servers for email...

Just sayin'... it won't amount to jack shit other than on the raving right.

I don't know this seems like a pretty big deal to me. Oddly the benghazi investigations didn't reveal this. I mean it's not gmail is secure or anything!

Uh what? It doesn't matter who broke the story, are you familiar with how our news works? My point was (I did forget the sarcasm tag so my bad), was that this is being covered by the "liberal media".

It would have been odd for the Benghazi investigation to reveal more than pandering to conspiracy theorizing among the fringewhacks.

"Private enterprise is always better than government."

*Democrat uses private sector offering over government option*

"OMG SHE HAS NO FAITH IN THE USA!!!!"

Do you not realize how petty it makes you seem when you take EVERY opportunity to criticize no matter how small?

That said; yes, she should have used a government e-mail for government business.

I would hope that those that are are doing so are also following federal guidelines regarding email security and retention. Are they? Do we know if Clinton was?

You're right, it's the same bullshit they pulled back then. Not only is it against federal law, but politicians that feel they need to hide their communications when they are required to be retained as records obviously have something to hide.

 for Hillary.

A few blasts from the past, lol.

The story isn't talking about inadvertant or occasional use of non-government email accounts. It is talking about the deliberate avoidance of government email, which is against the law for obvious good governance reasons.

The scandal was that she was trying to use a private account to evade the state laws requiring her government e-mail to be public.

using that email service to circumvent good government sunshine rules is against the law

Yes. I'm complaining.

So your implication is that it is alright for an indvidual in government to conduct public business in private and withhold information from the public concerning their public duties.

Sad that she does Government business behind a private account.

Doesn't sound very democratic or American does it?

Well it does if you are Republican and hate America.

Like those Republican staffers accessed confidential Democratic Senators' e-mail and used it for political exploitation?

I repeat my comment on this issue that we need to stop leaders from evading accountability laws by using private e-mail id's for government business.

Whether Palin and yahoo, or Rove, Abramoff and the RNC e-mail.

Somehow I don't think this was just a convenience issue where Palin got lazy about personal/work emails. Somehow, I suspect Palin wanted to avoid the state's secure system.

I think Congress and the states should all pass laws making it a criminal act to engage in government business on private email accounts. At the federal level, it should be grounds for impeachment (for elected officials).

Government officials work for and are accountable to US.

What's your point? I hold the same position now. Avoiding those disclosure and retention laws is fucked up and wrong, big time.

Unlike you, I don't form my opinions based on the political party that's doing something.

Good. The point is I hope to hear the same level of outrage from liberals and the media about this. But I doubt that will happen for the most part.

My whole thread kind of destroys that sentiment doesn't it? I first heard about this story on msnbc btw.

Its already happening so your narrative falls flat. Unlike the shills @Fox where personal emails from the GOP is no big deal.

I'm sure she just needed to make sure her accounts of being under sniper fire had to be kept out of those pesky retention records

Typical hypocrite scumbag, talk about transparency, then do the exact opposite. She fits right in with this administration.
