I just heard on the radio she handed over 55,000 pages of email records for review, but they did mention it was after she and her team decided what to release...

Hrmmmmmm. Still stinks.

Yeah, I heard her camp saying she wanted her emails to be released. Sure, then why hide them in the first place? Obviously what gets handed over is the stuff that's been vetted by her team, everything that's been scrubbed. Anything that would raise an eyebrow (or worse) is obviously already gone. Worthless trash politicians.

From my understanding it's unclear if any actual laws were broken and if any punishment would be appropriate.

What it IS though, is super shitty governance, which is its own problem.

Dang it, I have to rethink my position again, I'm in complete agreement with eskimo

People are entitled to their privacy, but official government business should be conducted in such a way that there is appropriate oversight and retention. People who try to circumvent the paper trail are generally the exact kind of people you don't want in office. There's every reason to keep personal stuff personal, but there's no reason why correspondence related their job in the government should ever be hidden or not retained unless they are doing something they shouldn't be.

So its reported that she used multiple email addresses on that server, not just one. And that at least one of those emails was compromised.

So transparent it hurts.

She's definitely not the first, only, or last government official to engage in these shenanigans to avoid oversight or retention. The fact that she's on record railing against government officials doing this as "shredding the constitution" shows awesome hypocrisy though, whether laws/regs were broken or not (which remains to be seen).

At worst, the dem power brokers will only use this to keep Hillary out of the 2016 election. Even if it's conclusively proven that she flagrantly broke federal law, I doubt anything will come of it.

It's Over, Hillary

Hillary and Bill Clinton have always had what can be termed as an "Icarus" problem. Through their years in political office, the scandals swirled around them but seemingly failed to engulf them: Jennifer Flowers (and the other women); Whitewater; Travelgate; the cattle futures killing; Monica Lewinsky; Benghazi; Bill's "business" jaunts courtesy of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein; the Clinton Foundation's foreign donor problem; and now, Hillary Clinton's version of "Emailgate." Through it all the Clintons have soared to the heights of hubris with obfuscation and denial, challenging and daring the sun god of karma. Instead of crash and burn, they've instead repeatedly landed on their feet, quite comfortably.

Until now.

Time to work towards slotting in Chelsea.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

So today apparently it comes out that Hillary sent an internal memo to State Department employees during her time there that they were to abide by federal rules/etc and use their .gov email addresses for all official communication.

Take that for what you will... Some will care, some won't. Bottom line is she knew damn well what she was doing in having and using her own mail server/host for official communication. She isn't stupid. She and her husband are two of the best connected and smartest politicians on the planet... Shit, even I can say that.

What's a damned shame and that is putting it mildly is that people of the caliber of Hillary Clinton are even considered to be presidential material. What's worse is that so many are not just willing but excited to cast a vote for her.

Since Bill left office, I am curious to hear who you voted for in the last handful of elections and then state on whether they were "presidential material".

Your answer on why you voted for them is probably the same reason that other people are excited to vote for Hillary.

Nah, to fix it you'd have to add something.
Scared of technology enough to pay someone (with other people's money) to set up her own home email server?

Classic Hildabeast - Use other people's money to build herself an illegal political advantage.

Two very different things.

But just as bad, or perhaps even worse, Jeb Bush published ALL his emails, including both sent and received. But the stupid F'er, who did this to show off how hip and tech savy he is, did NOT redact the personal information in the emails he received.

Yup, he published them with all the SS#'s listed, all the personal medical info listed etc. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I'm surprised this didn't garner much more attention.

Holy fuck! Classic case of damage control via shooting yourself in the foot. In this case, apparently through the bodies of a lot of other people. Collateral damage?

Neither of them deserves to be elected President, problem solved!
Amen.

Now if only someone who actually deserves to be President stood a chance . . .

Of course not. We can't borrow enough money from the Chinese to build the number of tennis courts, hot tubs, and gourmet coffee bars required by a federal prison big enough to house all the people who have broken the same laws.

I'll be amazed if there are any possible and significant penalties attached anyway. Power does not usually threaten itself, consequences being things best reserved for the little people and their horrendous crimes against humanity. (Case in point, selling loose cigarettes.)

Clinton is smarter than I thought and more than likely enlisted help to set up the mail server, VPN server and firewall. I actually looked into setting up my own E-mail server and it's no easy task. There are a lot of moving parts that all must come together. I did learn about iredmail though and that looks promising.

What I just have to shake my head at is the Whitehouse keeps saying they did not know Clinton was using a private E-mail. Yet @clintonemail wasn't suspicious? It should have been @state.gov. And to top it off she was using all kinds of different E-mail addresses. Then she told here staff not to use private E-mail and in 2009 she bitched about Bush's crap.

If she had deleted any classified E-mails each one is a three year prison sentence. It will take a warrant to get that HDD and I doubt this administration's DOJ will do that. Not sure if Congress can issue a warrant. The FBI needs to analyze that HDD!

In summery she's a hypocrite to the max and as usual the Washington corruption runs deep. But I bet the bitch makes it in come 2016 unless she finds her ass in jail.

Let me save you some time. The hard drive crashed, the backups were only kept for six months, and she's already turned over 50,000 emails. As the state spokespuppet said, "That's a really big number!"

SO I did about 5 minutes of googling and I'm having a really hard time figuring out why this is even an issue, let alone a scandal...she broke no laws, Kerry was the first SoS to even use his state department email regularly, so she didn't even set a precedent, and she's done her best to comply with records retention regulations and has been under no scrutiny for failing to do so.

Reaching much?

Look who the republicans have for candidates for 2016 and you'll know why they have to "get" Clinton at all costs.

This is only the beginning...

You need to do more and better research. Unless of course you're happy with what you feel you've learned. In that case continue along blissfully unaware. It satisfies the overwhelming majority of voters quite well. In other words, you're in good company.
