I'm going to hazard a guess that Hillary isn't going to be punished in ANY way for this.

I just heard on the radio she handed over 55,000 pages of email records for review, but they did mention it was after she and her team decided what to release...

Hrmmmmmm. Still stinks.

Somehow as an intelligent person my logic tells me that the State department does have an actual Policy on communicating electronically. There is the issue of not using an open and freely accessible E-Mail program to discuss state secrets.

Of course Hillary could just be too stupid and never uses E-Mail. Maybe she is scared of technology???

It is also common it seems for politicians to stay away from this type of communication and just let the aids take care of it.

Scared of technology enough to set up her own home email server? :awe:
I wonder what OS it uses FreeBSD? Redhat?

Does Jeb Bush has a Hillary problem as well? came across this article from CBS:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/jeb-bush-owns-his-email-server-too/

Two very different things.

But just as bad, or perhaps even worse, Jeb Bush published ALL his emails, including both sent and received. But the stupid F'er, who did this to show off how hip and tech savy he is, did NOT redact the personal information in the emails he received.

Yup, he published them with all the SS#'s listed, all the personal medical info listed etc. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I'm surprised this didn't garner much more attention.

The libruul media suppressed it.

Clinton is a big name, and Hillary! has a large following, so she is going to be looked at with a magnifying glass attached to a megaphone. Not surprising.

This email thing is a procedural unforced error. Although I'm sure there's enough Benghazi vapors flowing about to make it more of an issue than it really is. And I don't even want Clinton, a center-right neo-liberal neo-con as a Presidential candidate. Of course as a libruuul I also worship her as a lesser deity, right below Messiah Obama, Saul Alinksy, and Vlad Lenin.

I just came in to comment on this one myself, but you apparently have it covered.

At any rate Jeb Bush did the same thing while Florida Guv.

Neither of them deserves to be elected President, problem solved!

Well, no one deserves to be President. In fact, anyone who aspires to the Presidency should probably be precluded from it as a matter of principle. Essentially, the people should draft someone that they feel would make a decent President, while that person should try to deflect it as long as possible until a groundswell of support emerges.

Instead, we have political parties that choose who we get to vote for.

Of course, we could change how this works, but since the US Constitution is often worshiped as a perfect, infallible document, forget about it.

Tradition > Functionality.

Lol, Hillary will be as "Transparent" as Obama has proven to be.

Read, not "transparent."

Yeah, but wouldn't it be awesome if Hilary was secretly a hard core Linux coder who was contributing to open source projects in her downtime?

Maybe Al Gore taught her the ropes while they shared the White House.

It would help her get the nerd vote, anyway

I was laughing at the idea of 55,000 pages of printed emails. Anyone who has ever hit "print" in Outlook knows that you get way more than you wanted because all of the previously quoted email replies are printed, not just the latest email in the train, plus all of the addresses of the recipients, signature blocks, etc. Basically a 3 page email is 95% fluff.

If I was a political figure, out of those 55,000 emails, 49,865 would be spam, and I would laugh as people had to go through them.

Yeah, of course, she is hiding her activities.

Reminds me of how the Bush Whitehouse used RNC servers for email...

Just sayin'... it won't amount to jack shit other than on the raving right.

Just asking... Did they use the RNC mail domains for campaign/fund raising and strategy or were they conducting official gov't business via them?

There is a difference.

We all do emails. No one cares.
Especially not the people that will easily vote Hillary, and will chalk this up to the right wing conspiracy, which it probably is since this has given republicans in congress an opening to rehash Benghazi, again, endlessly.

And the Clinton's have a point, that privacy is more important to them than the typical politician, with considering how the far right went on the attack all during the Clinton years.

No, Hillary is not squeaky clean, but name one single politician or president that is?
And in the world of squeaky clean, an email scandal means little to the average Hillary fan.
I mean, its not like the Clinton's ever crashed the entire world economy, as another past president did.

You be the judge.
A crashed world economy? Or an email scandal? Once the press grows bored of this, no one will even remember.
And no one knows if Hillary broke any laws. Or exactly which regulations she actually broke, if any.

What it all boils down to is this endless obsession with a few far right wing republicans that some Benghazi scandal must be hidden within existing emails, or hidden within emails already destroyed, that must have proven some master mind Benghazi plot.

I think what they are hoping for are finding emails from Hillary selling assault weapons to the Benghazi terrorist out of her eBay account.
They aren't after a smoking gun, they want an email with a photo attachment showing Hillary actually handing over an assault weapon to a terrorist.
Who knows what they want?
They don't even know what they want, except to do anything to keep Hillary from elected the next president.
Which I predict, she will be exactly that, regardless of emails or Benghazi.

If Hillary is elected the next president of the United States, we all know the freak out that will follow from the republican far right.
How do we know?
It has already begun.

Just envision election night after Jeb concedes to Hillary, and Hillary strolls out on stage holding hands high in the air with husband Bill and daughter Chelsey, with thousands of red white and blue balloons raining from the sky, and CNN announcing the first elected woman president of the United States of America.
Take THAT to the bank.... And just try to stop it.

This is why it is unacceptable for Hillary Clinton to be president.

She only cares about herself.

From my understanding it's unclear if any actual laws were broken and if any punishment would be appropriate.

What it IS though, is super shitty governance, which is its own problem.

Since they destroyed all the email records it's not possible to know for sure, but considering that some officials were using the accounts almost exclusively and we're doing so explicitly to avoid a paper trail the answer is almost certainly yes, official business.

So who's next in line for the Dems? I keep reading and hearing that this is an inside job. That the Democrat party decided they didn't want her. That they were tired of running interference for the Clinton's. I can't help but think too that she's too moderate for the party. That Obama was unable to finish the job, that they need a closer and Hillary isn't that person. Of course it's really hard with her to tell what she's for because she'll say absolutely anything she thinks will get her ahead.

Warren is the only one I see. She's about as far left as I think the party can go and still have someone electable. But she's carrying around some baggage too. Not that being an habitual liar that played the system for all it's worth and got very wealthy in the process is seen as a detriment to Democrat voters.
