P.S. I could care less if there's a female POTUS. Likely it'll be a Dem. Could you all just elect someone this time who actually has some real world experience other than community organizer? Hillary would actually have been preferable to the guy that wanted to run to set himself up for a later POTUS win but ended up winning the nomination because of no one liking Hillary...er, I mean, your O'Bummer.

Actually, there's no reason the first female POTUS can't be a woman.

Something that would help is that while most 'feminists' are already democrats, so they gain few new votes except for some non-voters, Republicans get a big crossover.

Like Margaret Thatcher, gender doesn't matter, it's about whose interests they serve. We sadly have plenty of misguided right-wing women, think Liz Cheney as an example.

What they're lacking more is experience - only Condi came close to that, Christine Todd Whitman was expelled for daring not to completely cave to polluters as told to.

But they've even give that up, as the near-elevation of Sarah Palin to have a good chance to be President was embraced by Republicans in 2008.

Showing they have *no* standards, really, to get power, except to serve the right interests. If they'll put Sarah Palin in the Presidency, who is unqualified?

Sadly, the same could be said of George Bush - the real criterion seems to be, what con man's face can get Americans to vote for them to implement corrupt policies?

'Oh, I like that George Bush, those steely blue eyes, I trust him, he's the guy I'd like to have a beer with, I'm going to vote for him, not shifty Gore or Frenchie Kerry.'

What do you think the possibility is of Hillary running for President in 2012?
Shouldn't she start testing the waters right about now?

The linked video is very interesting.
If I was a Democrat I would definitely pick her over Obama.
Your thoughts?

If she seriously ran for the 2012 Democratic POTUS nominee she would slipt the party and guarantee that the GOP would have complete control of the Federal government. Ted Kennedy did something similar to this back in 1980.

I think most Democrats remember what a disaster George W Bush was for the country to let the GOP win the POTUS because of their disapointment with Mr Obama. Also I think the reality of the GOP having control of the House will be a nice reminder of this too.

BTW, Mr Obama has strong support in his party and right now he would beat any GOP that would has been polled against him. As the economy improves Mr Obama's approval rating improve.

I saw that too. I certainly hope the first female POTUS is a woman :awe:

Although I fear this will yet another 'Which candidate do I think will screw over the country less or at least use lube while doing it' election

I'd very much like it if she won the presidency for one term because there's a whole lot of people out there that still think Bush and Cheney and the ideology these two crooks supported and advanced was in no way responsible for the mess they made of our Nation. These folks need to be convinced otherwise via a Palin victory.

The last presidential election sucked. We had a choice between McCain and Obama. It's like both parties are TRYING to put out the absolute worst candidates possible.

I really don't care as long as it's not Sarah Palin.

I'm all for putting Ron Paul into office but when people here him state facts, they assume he's just nuts because he talks about things that really matter.

And since a write in is just a waste of time, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to bother voting in 2012.

Too bad you can't cast a negative vote and cancel out a vote for someone, would be like voting once for everyone else on the ballot.

Don't ever say that. She seems to have a scarily high number of supporters.

Not enough to win because she'd have to draw independents in large numbers. If Palin were to win the Rep nomination, the Dems would win. If she were to run as a third party candidate, she'd draw votes from the Reps. Dems win.

She's a gift to the Democratic party.

If Hillary ran, I wouldn't vote for her. Or anyone else claiming to be a feminist.

I don't even want her in the race because there is too much risk involved - just like I don't want her running as a VP. I am convinced something would happen before the election (like her opponent is found to be an active pedophile) that would give her the majority vote.

Not. Worth. The. Risk.

Which is exactly why you, Munky, is an itsy bitchice teanie weamie minority no one pays attention to.

And the other thing to note is that Hillary had far more than just the feminist vote behind her in 2008. And if she runs in the future, she will have some added world cred too.
