Focusing on issues instead of emotion is NOT a failure of the Democrats.
Its a failure of American brains. I really wish schools would push critical thinking instead of memorization.

But in politics you have to work with the population/electorate you have. Though clearly there are limits to what can be achieved. Maybe some things just have to happen and work their way out?

But as for schools, that just reminds me, her education policies are one of the things I'm suspicious of Hillary about (and even Obama wasn't without problems). With the emphasis on 'charter schools' and the involvement of the extremely dodgy 'Teach For America' lot, she seems to favour the same anti-union, anti-professionalism, and pro-privatisation-by-stealth approach as Michael Gove. And resembling Michael Gove is never a good thing.

Democrats gerrymandered the entire State. Again I can see why you're in favor of it. It was gerrymandered in your favor.

Senate races aren't gerrymandered ever so your point is irrelevant in relation to your original whining about how California conducts its Senate elections.

Maybe GOP candidates for Senate should come up with policy positions that are at least popular enough to at least be second best in the Senate primary. The fact they can't clear that hurdle is a reflection of how bankrupt the GOP is when it comes to policies the people of California actually want enacted at the federal level. Not some grand conspiracy.

Here is the translation in your native tongue:

Возможно, кандидаты Республиканской партии в Сенат должны придумать политические позиции, которые, по крайней мере, достаточно популярны, чтобы по крайней мере стать вторым в Сенате. Тот факт, что они не могут понять, что препятствие является отражением того, как банкротство Республиканской партии, когда дело доходит до политики, которую люди Калифорнии фактически хотят принять на федеральном уровне. Не какой-то вели

To be clear you're talking about California and not Texas right? Because I'm pretty sure the GOP just got caught red handed gerrymandering our great state.

Good. The EC is as old and deprecated as its original creators including the cavemen who still support it in modern times. Time for a democratic system.

Perhaps; however, "deprecated" doesn't mean what you think it does.

Not too many Democrats complained about the electoral college when this man won twice against Republicans in "majority white America" after he beat the Democrat party favorite front runner Hillary Clinton.

And all her defenders in the Democrat party seemed to have forgotten that same man beat the "chosen one" Hillary Clinton in her own democrat party primary by exposing her true nature which was then and is now out of touch with mainstream America,

So while you sit there and whine about the Russians, Bernie Sanders, deplorables, sexism, the electoral college and everything else under the sun, do not forget that the same egotistical, pompous, arrogant, blowhard, grab them by the pussy, Trump that she and her "establishment party" lost the general election to also beat out the "establishment Republicans" and their big business lackey anointed ones during the republican primaries, by taking advantage of the mess both parties left the country in the last 30 some years.

Everyone complained when Bush won and started 2 wars we're still in and paying for.

Hell we're still paying 10 billion dollars to Pakistan every month and helping them create terrorists.

Of course not, because he also won the popular vote. Try again.

So let's make this clear. It was fair because Hillary could have won the same way Trump did, but we should get rid of it because she didn't win.

That's about manipulating the system, a system they both chose to run within. Hillary can work at McDonalds too so long as she accepts the rules there.

I feel very comfortable saying it must go. I've felt that way for at least 20 years. The EC creates a system where tons of R's won't vote in CA and tons of D's won't vote in TX. Plus there is no good reason why any states voters should carry more weight in EC votes than any other voter.
In other words the EC brings us candidates that pander to the extremes.

The deplorables are a drag in this country. Please make America great again, deport the deplorables.

Whoosh. Are posts like the one quoted here what pass for conservative "thought" these days? Or has the poster just been eating more lead paint chips than usual?

No, Sanders didn't get elected. The one thing that is clear is that Dems are whining little beeches.

Trump is not my idea of a good president, but hey, a bunch of idiots thought that hillary was.

Let's get back on topic, with the topic being that hillary whines. I have no sympathy for a multi-millionare who was a detriment to the country then whines when she can't do further damage.

It's like me asking to poke you in the eye with a fork and when you say no, I beg you to let me do it. Senseless.

In which ways, specifically, was she a detriment to the country?

I keep on pointing out how this isn't really true. Republicans vote religiously. 80% of evangelicals vote, for example, and always republican. You might say CA doesn't have that many evangelicals, but republicans everywhere are still predominantly christian. So for the most part it's only the democrats who won't bother voting because of the EC. It's a cynical but a rational decision, and republicans aren't rational. The popular vote to EC contrast would be a lot higher than 3m if everyone who didn't vote because of the EC did vote.

No, we should get rid of it because it provides no value. The president should be the person the most people want to be president. Pretty simple.

Please reference post #122 of this thread. When Trump agrees with Clinton the matter really should be settled.

But she couldn't have 'won the same way' because the bias in the system is designed to favour low-population-density areas, and, for historical and sociological reasons, such areas tend to favour conservatives.

That Hillary may or may not only be complaining because she lost is entirely irrelevant. It remains a bad system, regardless of who is complaining about it or the purity of their motives for doing so.

Got it, Evagelical votes should count more to deciding who is President. Sounds reasonable and fair to me.

Would you mind going over the reasoning process used to arrive at that conclusion? Just kidding. I know you didn't think or even read before posting. Guess it raises the point that just because someone's a democrat doesn't mean they think any better than conservatives do. It's generally the case, however.
