Wow lots of negative response. I was simply speculating when I said that swinging around one's arm would control Link's sword.
In the article, it says: "In September of 2001 Gyration Inc., a leading manufacturer of efficient gyroscope sensors, announced a deal with Nintendo. The details of the deal were straightforward - Nintendo was to invest an undisclosed amount of money into the company in return for the use of the Gyration technology."
It just makes you think...what is Nintendo up to. By the way, I'm not a fanboy of any side: PS2, XBox, PC, or Gamecube. I am, however, a fan of great games, and changing the way they're played is something to at least look into, depite it having the capacity of being an utter failure or a complete success.
And it is true that Nintendo cannot compete with Xbox and PS2 in the long run, because #1 they aren't exactly doing the best job at delivering hotly anticipated sequels (Smash Bros Melee 2, anyone?) or cranking out must-have games (where is the Goldeneye equiv. for Gamecube?) and #2 they simply do not have the financial backing that Microsoft and Sony have. I mean, isn't Microsoft losing money for every Xbox sold (and depending on software sales to break even)? There are many more reasons, but I'll leave it at that for now. Oh great here come the flames.
