Actually, I was watching a show on Animal Planet about Rhinos & Elephants fighting two nights ago. They caught several fights on film (fighting over a mud puddle) which is extremely rare. The elephants usually won in the short term, there was even one who grabbed the rhino's horn with its trunk and ripped it off (no they didn't show it happening, but the aftermath was gruesome). Anyways, the elephants usually ended up killing the rhinos in the fight, but the wounds they sustained during the battle would often kill them later on.

The moral of the story? When elephants and rhinos fight, no one wins.

Ahh... Those were the reasons I watched animal planet. Now, if only a huge siberian tiger would get in a fight with a male lion. Thow in a couger for good fun.

Rhino gets owned by both Elephants and Hippos.
Elephants are the leading cause of death for Hippos. The was one case where a Hippo dragged a
Rhino into the water and ripped it apart.

Ooooooops... Sorry, looks like I misunderstood... Yea, there shouldn't be lots of water there. Very hot, bright sun etc... No water at all. And here it is - the water hole... BTW, do you think that elephants would drink all the water? Wouldn't it be a better tactics just to wait till they've done drinking and leave, and then to drink it? Why do these animals fight then? >>
