Neat but WOW, sticker shock to say the least! Especially since Hisense is famous as a budget-TV maker, i.e. the 50" sets you get for like $399 over the holidays. The two things that really sets this apart are the laser projector & the fact that it's sold as a complete package. I dunno. The LG LED short-throw projector is available for $1,300 right now on Amazon, and it wouldn't be hard to get a screen & 5.1 soundbar to go with it...for a fraction of the cost:

You could even throw in an Atmos system from Onkyo and still be at less than a third of the cost of the Hisense setup. But, still very cool to see this technology taking off!

That is correct. So $7k for a UST laser projector, screen, and wireless sound system is, comparatively, a steal. I'll have to see it in person tho, because my experience with laser projectors has not been good (poor contrast especially makes for poor colors in movies). However, the screenshots & videos I've seen of their setup makes it look really good, so maybe they've got it figured out. But the LG LED model is $1.3k, which is far, far cheaper than even $7k (granted, it has some issues).
