Hissing 1901FP

Hello,

I am wondering if other 1901FP users are having a Hissing noise coming from the LCD when there is a signal present.

I am in analog mode and just noticed this high to medium pitch noise.

I would like to know if this is normal or not before i call dell.

Doesn't sound normal to me. I'm using a Sony 15" LCD that's totally silent. Could be a problem with the power circuitry, though AFAIK power problems are classified as whines and not hisses.

Do you have usb hooked up to the monitor? If so, that could be it.

What do you mean hooked up?

Like the USB cord hooked up to the desktop? The USB cord is not connected to the desktop and i still hear the noise.

I don't have any USB devices hooked up into the monitor now..

and i guess you could classify it as a whine.

I really didn't have any words for it so i just used hiss.

i have the same monitor, no sound from it

unplug it and let it stand for a day or so, might work
make sure you are using 60hz and not something higher

Unpluged it overnight then plugged it in and ran it, was louder then before.

So i called dell and they established there was something wrong with it, it took 50 mins for them to get me a batch number.
