Someone threw a horseshoe that hit the ground 10 feet in front of me and then rolled right into my left inner ankle. It hurt like a mofo, but I was drunk at the time and didn't think to much of it.

Really, really swollen the next day was some super awesome bruising. Looks like I was bleeding internally quite a bit b/c the bottom and top of my foot were really bruised. There's about a 2-square-inch spot right on my ankle that has no sensation at all.

Fastforward a few days and the bruising seems to be going away, but the swelling is as bad as ever and I still can't feel anything in that same spot.

Now, this weekend I've noticed I have all new bruising on the bottom of my foot, in the back of my heel and along the bottom of both sides of my foot. Starting to feel some pain now, which oddly I hadn't really until now b

Does this sound like just a really bad bruise or does it sound like something's broken? The new bruising really has me confused. Gonna go to the doc tomorrow, but was wondering what people thought.

not a healthcare professional, but sounds like you had a pretty good bleed in there, and the blood is just moving around and not getting out very quickly. Elevate your foot and take ibuprofen and alternate cold and heat to get things moving.
In other words, nef more.

Should be fine. I wa playing soccer and took a bad slide tackle to my shin. The bruise covered my entire leg and went away after a week, but then suddenly, my leg swelled like crazy and entire shin was a fluid bubble. It went away after a month,

I'll trade you. I put in 1200 feet of fencing last Tues,Wed,Thurs. I knew I was going through poison ivy, but not a lot I could do about it. Ran out of rubbing alcohol & the store was closed; tried to wash the oils off with soap and water, but wasn't 100% successful. I'll take a bruise any day over this.

Rest, ice, compress, elevate. Best way to get the swelling to go down. As far as the ankle, you can fracture small sections of it surprisingly easy, so it might be best to get it x-rayed.
