"Pulls" are basically parts installed into a system, but then removed before the system was sold. For instance the company may have a pile of pre-assembled systems for sale. A customer buys one, but wants a 1TB HDD instead of the 500GB that was already installed. The 500GB is removed and sold as a "pull."

One of the reviews at mwave reported almost 2 years of usage on the drive.

sounds like a good deal but when you can get new WD 2TB drives for $69 i dont know... but then it gets to the point where if you just need a simple os drive, 2TB is serious overkill too....

Not everyone needs a 2TB drive. At some point relative value , ie GB/$, is meaningless and absolute value , ie how many actual George Washingtons do you want to spend matters.

"New Pulled" is bound to mean "newly pulled" -- which says nothing about how long the drive was in use before it was pulled. Sort of like the frequently heard advertisement -- "No interest until 2012" meaning that all payments until then are on the principle -- after which you start paying on the accumulated interest. Accurate -- but misleading. They can't help it if you misinterpret the statement to mean no interest accrues until 2012. Just as MW can't help it if you misinterpret new pulled to mean a new drive pulled from some piece of equipment being upgraded or cannibalized.

Isn't this obvious that OS had to be there, and god knows what else.

Very creative way of naming used hard drive.

New Pull is suppose to be when a new component is pulled from a system before it was used.

Used Pull is suppose to be when the component is used and has been pulled from a used system.

System Pull can be either of the above.

Sellers often take liberties with the use of these terms so you never really know what you are going to get unless they specifically describe the condition.
