Another DX12 game not showing the AOTS effect, how surprising.
What do you mean by this?
Edit:Am I seeing people raving about results only to be proven wrong by updated results?

Devs will get used to it and AMD/Nvidia will improve the drivers. At the moment DX12 seems like a checkbox feature leading to more problems than improvements. In the long term DX12 will definitely be an improvement over 11. Sometimes I look at DX code and wonder who came up with this.
But I don't know what Microsoft has in mind for devs who don't want to deal with lower level access. Khronos wants to continue supporting OpenGL but I guess DX devs are stuck with 11.
Yep, seems like ShintaiDK and Good_fella are referring to earlier, erroneous, benchmark results. What do you mean by this?

What is basically an R9 290 is almost as fast as an overclocked 980ti. I TOLD YOU GUYS. Those Maxwell driver boys were fired weeks ago, the Kepler boys are in a hole in the desert and the Pascal guys are popping champagne right about now in a pre celebratory money pit of group orgy-ness.
DX11 and OGL is the worst of all options. But I think a higher level wrapper should be created, and it can run on the D3D12 or Vulkan implementations.Devs will get used to it and AMD/Nvidia will improve the drivers. Yes in an AMD paid game.
Look a GTX980 is much faster than a Fury in Gears of War: http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-crimson-16-3-drivers/
:sneaky:
And the 980Ti is even faster....Who cares if the more expensive card is faster.....Sometimes.

Is the R9 390 the ultimate sub $300 1440p card?
Lets judge three Nvidia sponsored games to find out in Max OC comparisons between the GTX 970 and the R9 390.
In 2 games at 1440p, a playable resolution for both of these cards, the R9 390 pulls ahead in these games in Average FPS, while in the third, it is a wash although the R9 390 has higher minimums, something we cherish a lot as gamers.
Specifically, in Fallout 4, a game we know a LOT of gamers will be spending days of their lives (literally) in, the R9 390 pulls ahead drastically in minimums by 10 fps.
Despite these being games with the Nvidia seal of Gameworks, these are games in which AMD pulls ahead or is dead even.
So even in Nvidia's best case scenarios, the R9 390 is pulling ahead, at playable framerates at 1440p.
Our conclusion is simple.
For 1080p/60hz, 1440p/60hz users, the R9 390 is the best choice currently out in the $300 bracket.
Gears of war? True DX12 is Atos.other than this is either poor game engine or crap port.
Still no Fury aka GCN 1.2 numbers. They already had the card in and just needed start the game in DX12.
I wonder what the delay is.
What I want to know is if the results which are showing up now are valid or not ? btw if the results are valid then is the second title after AOTS to show that GCN cards excel under DX12. AOTS releases on March 31st. Next in line is Quantum Break in April. AMD cards are also kicking ass in recent titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Division. Farcry Primal. This sets it up well for the next gen contest in mid-2016 ? Hopefully we see AMD put up a good fight and a return to competition like we saw in the HD 4800 and HD 5800 days. That would be great for consumers.

I would not say that R9 390 is matching GTX 980 Ti .
It is close, but not matching it.

Or it's just general concern what the delay is... maybe there is another problem and they have to retest again....
I mean, do you guys really expect an R9 390 to be close to a GTX 980Ti?
I don't, but I mean, cool if it is, I'm happy, but I am not expecting that....
Odd results combined with delays, combined by earlier retests/issues.... it's not that farfetched.
Why is AtoS a "true DX12" game? It doesnt even use CR, ROV or Tiled Ressource Tier 3. :\
A true "DX12" would be unplayable on any DX11 hardware.
BTW: The Division uses CR for nVidia's HFTS. Guess this makes it a true DX12 game even without the DX12 API, ha?
