lol just because of that it made you not like it? Back then when it came out I don't think any fps had the pull-up iron sites and when CS:Source I think the only fps that had it was Call of Duty.
Yes it is. It may sound silly to you, be we all like or dislike games for various reasons no matter how silly they sound.
For me personally, I never did like most source engine games. Up until recently, I HATED Half-Life 2 and didn't understand all the love it got. I had several false starts playing the game getting through a couple chapters then losing interest. Everytime I tried replaying it, I hated it more. I then finally gave it one more shot and played it and the episodes to conclusion, and now I like it. That said, I liked it in spite of the source engine.
Why? The gunplay just isn't that great. It feels like you're constantly firing from the hip because of no iron sights. It might be perception, but I'm usually a lot more accurate looking down the sights of a gun instead of some barely visible crosshair on the screen. It's the BIGGEST barrier between me and source games. I recently got into the CSS:Beta and figured I'd give a second shot. Within 5 minutes, I realized exactly why I disliked it.
Besides, CSS has an absolutely ridiculous learning curve. I mean, I'm don't expect it to be something like COD where any n00b can do decently well, but damn if you don't know the maps, you're essentially bait walking into shark infested waters.
