I don't remember his name, but I do remember one fairly attractive hoarder... he was freaking out about his dog and saving all of its shedded hair?
he was in his early twenties, his alcoholic dad lived with him. besides all the dog hair, they pulled out a crap load of wine/liquor bottles
I'd hit it after a good scrub-down/delousing.he was in his early twenties, his alcoholic dad lived with him. besides all the dog hair, they pulled out a crap load of wine/liquor bottles
Jake , season 1 #7
My mother is/was a hoarder. ...
After purchasing it from her, I told her she has 6 months before I started work (renovating the property). She had all that time to go through it. 9 months later, she finally finished getting out the most of her important things ...
You're a good person for giving her the time to go through everything. I'm not a certified hoarder, but I keep a lot of stuff. I have some sympathy for the hoarders when the family/helpers come in and start grabbing things to take away. I would get pretty anxious too if someone started going through my things like that. Granted, these people have put themselves in the situation and didn't utilize the time they had before the cameras arrived. But still...I feel their pain.
My dad's basement was pretty much unlivable when we had a house. Now he lives in my condo and likes to hoard garbage and crap other people throw away. A bench, exercise bike, stroller (wtf??), coffee tables, etc. Christ, he's forgetting this is my place, not his lol. Can't wait til he moves back to his own apartment.
I followed that rule until I ended up throwing out all my winter clothes in October when I hadn't worn my snowshoes in 6 months
Seems like both of you have the same problem.
I would not allow it to even start in my place and would have no problem throwing stuff out if it began.

Think about if someone came into your house and trashed/stole all your electronics. They feel that way about their entire pile.
Never met a hoarder have you?
