Then what is the point of getting such a large settlement if the entity can't possibly pay it, other than putting them out of business of course in which case wouldn't you get dick?

If Gawker can only reasonably liquidate $1M and maybe pay another $1M over time then any settlement above $3-4M might as well be 10 trillion dollars.

The even stranger thing is they asked for less, the Judge increased the fine because of a) their court behavior b) they had ample opportunity to comply
