World¡¯s Fastest GeForce4 Ti4200: 308MHz Chip and 708MHz Memory! [9:15 am] Rat

As we have recently found out, Korean SUMA Company is going to start shipping GeForce4 Ti4200 based graphics cards in the nearest future, which will impress numerous overclockers with their outstanding features. Russian site Overclockers.ru posted some benchmarks results of this graphics card called SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE. I would like to point out that the design of this graphics card contradicts all NVIDIA¡¯s recommendations and requirements, which makes it a really unique product.

Firstly, unlike other GeForce4 Ti4200 based solutions, SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE is equipped with BGA memory chips covered with tiny heatsinks. The memory chips boast 3.3ns access time, i.e. they are intended to work at the frequencies up to 600MHz. The card has 128MB memory altogether.

Secondly, SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE is based on GeForce4 Ti4600 reference design implying that the card should work stably at high frequencies.

Thirdly, the nominal frequencies of SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE are set higher than the required for 128MB solutions 250MHz core and 444MHz memory frequency. SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE works at 250MHz core and 550MHz memory frequency. In other words, the memory frequency of our hero is the same as that of GeForce4 Ti4400 and the core is only 25MHz slower.

The fast memory and enhanced PCB design should evidently make the card excellent for impressive overclocking. According to the benchmarks results carried out by that Russian site, SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE managed to overclock up to 305MHz chip and 708MHz memory! And it is even faster than GeForce4 Ti4600!

This way, SUMA is now offering an excellent product for overclocking fans, which can defeat any of the today¡¯s existing graphics accelerators when overclocked. Note that the newcomer doesn¡¯t cost that much: SUMA Platinum GeForce4 Ti4200 SE will be priced just a little bit higher than the regular GeForce4 Ti4200 based solutions.

Please, feel free to take a look at the picture of this wonder-card at www.overclockers.ru.

The question is, where to buy SUMA boards?

good find. it's a nice heads up. this is especially valid in THIS forum because people usually order their junk through this forum (among other sites)

Boy the "Âûíîñíîé ìîäóëü Media XP îò ABIT" on that page looks cool. Seems to be a USB2/firewire/card reader/S-PDIF/optical connector to fit in a bay. Couldn't find any information on the Abit site about it. Too bad I don't have a clue about Russian.

Who cares? The point of the 4200 is to be a budget performer. At that price point, you might as well buy a 4400.

EDIT: fat-fingers lead to blank post...

For those of you who can read hangul (Korean script), here's the link:http://www.suma.co.kr/product/product_view.php?mode=view&no=101.

Even if you don't understand Korean you gan get a pretty good idea of what they have to offer. I myself am not too bad with Korean, and I can tell you that the page pretty much gives the general spiel of specs for GF4-class cards. One thing I found interesting was that the page explicitly mentions that the card is a black 8-ply pcb. I wonder why they didn't use the Korean word for "black"... Anyways, unless someone is willing to give me some good intel on shopping for pc parts and electronics, all of my experience leads me to believe that it won't be worth the trip to Kimpo city to see if the company will sell them directly to me or any of my pals here at Osan AB. I have always found the the HOT DEALS posted here to be *much* better than the prices at the Yongsan electronics market, as well as the market at the Nambu Terminal.

Maybe I could help out a distributor for a nominal fee... Any takers?

I read Russian. Anything anybody wants to know? It seems like most of the technical information is in english or it is numeric, so one can tell what it is. Still, I can translate whatever is needed.

Oh, and I agree - this is not the right forum for this. Good technology is not the same as good deal. Making high-performance card on a mid-range chipset only matters if the cost of that performance doesn't drag the card into the price-range of higher chipsets.

whats the point, it's pretty much a 4400. And 4400s are under $230 now. Just get the Gaindware 4200 with 3.5ns DDR for $160

Agreed. The Suma uses BGA packaging memory, so this may basically just be a Geforce 4 Ti 4600
