Holy!! 27-29^C Under Dual Load

Testing out this big typhoon + as5 and I'm getting 21-22^C Idle and 28-29^C under dual load (prime) according to smartguardian. I have a temperature probe, but I'm not sure how/where to mount it.

Either you're testing it in a refrigerator, or your temps are off a bit

I agree that seems off. My A64 3000+ (stock speeds) with AS5, an XP-90 and Panaflo M1A runs about 35c idle and the lower forties for load.

My Venice 3000+ @ 2.4GHz @ 1.44V hits 40°C under OCCT load... Idles at 32°C... I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64, a somewhat lesser cooler than yours...

Your temps are some 5 - 10°C off IMHO... Not bad BTW... :thumbsup:

EDIT: Mount it between the central fins of your heatsink, as close to the base as possible... If it's a small one, you can put it between the heatsink and the CPU, but I wouldn't do that...

Hmm, if your door's off, those temps seem more possible... However, it's a dual core CPU, so I'd still add 5°C...

Come on guys, the side of his case is off. Not meaning to sound rude to the OP but that's a pretty substantial omission from your original post considering this thread is about your temps.

Also as NeezyDeezy pointed out we have no idea what speed and VCore the CPU is running at.

edit - regarding where to place the CPU temp. sensor; someone posted this link in another recent thread, the sensor is the black wire with the orange end on the near side of the CPU.

19c ambient is 66 degrees farenheit....
you say your idle is 21c - 22c......and load is 28c - 29c...

I would say whatever your measuring your temps with is not accurate......

Show us a screen shot of your temps....

My Abit motherboard tells me that my CPU is 17C but I am pretty sure it's somewhere around 28C. The SMBus is definitely messing with you.

When I first booted my 170 I had 20c idle 29c load... but the next day 29c idle and 38c load. It hasn't changed since, even after a modest 400mhz oc. Just to add, any possibility that he has Cool n' Quiet enabled?
